nope you have to show your wedding certificate for everything!you can get your passport changed but if your going abroad you'll have booked it in your maiden name if you haven't changed your passport already

I think you could change your passport if you wanted to but it would mean going to one of the main passport offices in london or peterborough If i am correct this is where you go if you need a passport in 24 hrs. but Soon to be mrs Mann is right you cant change anything until you have the marriage certificate

Nina the cost of changing your name on your passport is the price of a new passport (approx £70). I'm waiting until mine expires before I change it, refuse to pay so much for a change of name x

I've done the same i'm going away in my maiden name and it might be a while before we go away again so i'll leave it 6 months if we don't book another holiday (H2B is threatening another hol) i'll send it off. the biggest thing is my driving license as you have to send the original certificate where as all the others will accept copies

It actually costs about £40 through a solicitor to change your name by deed poll or some online sites charge a bit less if your desperate to get your name changed before your married x your then given copies of your changed name certificate to change things like your passport and driving licence.

i need to ask our vicar about getting two copies tomorrow at the rehersal but if not i'll pay the registry office for another copy

Im thinking of getting it all ready, addressed etc and then can just chuck it all in the post with copies etc when we get back from hmoon.

You can change silly things like your rewards cards (boots, tesco, debenhams), car breakdown cover, I would do driving license after passport as then you don't need to send off your certificate, just your new passport number. You can change your car registration certificate without proof though.
