I just used a word processing program and mine were like post cards so made sure the page was split in to two columns and that each side was centralised/symetrical.

We bought card from a large well known craft store which was enough for 50 traditional card invitations so had enough to also do post card rsvps.

It's a bit tricky so I suggest if you are doing it the way we did it to print off test ones on plain paper first so as not to waste your cards.

Word processing programs would work for most designs. Definitely print test sheets, and use a laser printer if you have access to one.

I used micro soft publisher to make my invites, name cards, individual menu's and thank you scrolls, its easy to use, I printed them onto embossed cream card then I added white parchment paper inserts for the inside, glued carefully along the top, the program is easy to use and its much easier to move test and images around than word processing program, I added ribbon and bow for decoration, you can add whatever you want to go with your theme.

Ive spent the afternoon fiddling with my save the dates (wasnt going to do them but now people are pestering me for the date all the time) I'll print them and distribute over the weekend. I'll email it to the ones who are more southernly to save on postage though!

Its easy enough once you get the hang of the margins etc and practice printing on plain paper first. Saves wasting pretty card if it all goes pete tong! xx

Buy your materials off the bay of e hun. I made my own save the dates and I'm making my own invites too. I bought hammered ivory card and pearlised paper off there for less than £15 for 50 sheets of each!
