We are going to see the Rev. tomorrow morning at the church I want to get married in. I know we won't be able to book it til a year before but I want to find out how it all works and what we willl and won't be allowed (Music, candles etc).

Other than that what should I ask? Do churches sometimes have an order of service or is that always something that we would have to do? Is that something I should ask about?

I don't want to seem thick to the Rev. but I realy have no clue how it all works. xx

I think churches will give examples of order of services and probably options you can choose from if you wish. They should have their own organist or recommend someone who you can talk to about music.
Why can you not book until a year to go?

I have a church wedding we were asked to go to a wedding planning day organised by the church, at the church where lots of brides to be and there H2B were their. they ran through a lot of the info you are asking about then.

Then we met up 2 months ago at the Rev house and he gave us examples of Order of services to look at. which was handy as although we had done our reseach on line and had produced a template of what we wanted in ours it was nice to see how other people had finished theres of. we also made a date for a rehersal at the church which is booked for few days before the wedding so you know what to do ect.

i didnt really need to ask our rev any thing as he pretty much answered all the questions before i had a chance to ask lol.
our rev said order of service arent compulsery as he'll just give everyone a hymn book and then tell them to turn to page such and such. but if we want one then we have to email him a copy so he can give it the go ahead.
