Ive seen on another thread that people pick a song for guests to walk in and sit down to, song for bride/bms to walk in to, song for signing the register and a song for walking out to. Basically, how did your music turn out on the day? Did it get played at the right times and did you have to nominate someone to do it or did the venue do it for you?

So for those who are now married, could you share how your music turned out on the day please? Sorry for all the questions! I just have in in my head even if my 4 songs were on a CD, with a piece of paper instructing them when to play it that it would still get messed up and the music means a lot to me.

    Thanks!

We had a CD of about 10 songs for when guests were coming in and sitting down, one for walking in and one for walking out. We didn't have any music for signing the register. The discs had "Before ceremony - shuffle/repeat", "walking in" and "walking out" written on them so it was nice and easy. I asked a friend to be in charge and all he had to do was change the discs and press play.

I went to a wedding in a hotel last week and they got her music all wrong apparently, they played the same song for her walking in (will young - evergreen) as to sign the register, as to walk out! She was furious because it wasnt even the right song. I just want to stop the same thing happening at my wedding xx

No unfortunately not, they messed up on the rooms so they didnt have the bridal suite for the actual wedding night only the night before, they ended up in just a standard double room. They messed up the seating plan and missed the MOH off completely, they got the kids meals all wrong so the kids didnt end up eating what was put in front of them, the midnight munchies (bacon butties) the bread was stale, as if it had been microwaved, the DJ was awful and played music that nobody had ever heard of. They were supposed to deliver breakfast to the bridal suite the morning of the wedding and it was over an hour late. It was just badly organised from the moment she arrived (we got there the thurs afternoon she got married the friday afternoon)

Well the main thing is that it didn't totally ruin her whole day. I would be so angry if all that happened to mine!

We had a harpist play for the guests while waiting, the ceremony and photographs. A CD for the wedding breakfast and a DJ for the evening. The harpist was one of the highlights for all the guests but was on the expensive side.

I think as long as you have a good venue they will be used to sorting out things like this so it should all work out

We are having a harpist so thankfully this is something I won't have to worry about but yeh it is something you have tro put your trust in someone to do get it right. I am sure it will work out.

Our registry office have given us a form to fill in stating if we are entering together or seperate. Who if anyone is walking me in. Our choice of vows, promises and poems what songs are to be played when and the track number they all have to be on one disk though.

ahh thats sounds great cupcake_katie, thats exactly the reassurance I was after. Mine is a registry office service so this could be a similar thing across the board. I'll have to dig out my paperwork and see if it mentions anything like that.
