I stuck with formality, so i used everybody's full name on the invites, but it up to personal preference.x

My Mum and Dad are getting carried away and wanting to be the ones sending the invitations....as in "Mr & Mrs......request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter....etc..." so judging by that I'd say they'll be going for formality! If we let them, of course.....

i should have said that, my parents are "hosting" it, they paying for it, so its a small sacrifice lol. but i am giving them choices of the wording, I just dont want to offend the grandparents by saying pauline and bill (for example) rather than nana and grandad. i just wondered what the done thing is

That's a good point - I tihnk my Nanna would find it odd if I called her Lily! Unless you put their proper name and then Nanna or Mum and Dad or whatever in brackets or something?!

I think it's more common to use names. I will be because my parents are divorced and remarried. But I think if you prefer mum and dad, nana and grandad etc you go for it!

I am doing what madhen said and writing their name with nan etc. in brackets next to it. But I think I may do the wording differently for parents too and make it a little more sentimental than the others will be :) xxx
