First post so please be nice!

I had a random thought of wouldnt it be cool to get a light sabre to cut the cake in some sort of way (other half loves his star wars.) I then googled it to find loads of sites showing how to do it or buy one!

Has anyone made one before? Is this a completely crazy idea? Or just a little bit mad!?

    Thanks!!

I have no idea how to do it/where to get one etc but sounds cool. The cutting of the cake is theatrical /symbolic really so i don't suppose it even matters if the sabre is actually able to cut the cake. Go for it it will be different and your h2b will love it xxx

We've been looking at the same idea and found a tutorial which was for a steam punk cake knife (I think it was on when geeks wed, or maybe offbeat bride) and if memory serves they suggested apoxy resin for attaching the knife blade to the new handle.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the epoxy tip! Think m going to have a try and make one. I know keeping the light is out of he question, but if I manage to keep the sound effects then I'll be over the moon!!
