Wedding Forum - ***Our Wedding Day*** WITH PICCIES...

Hello everybody,

It has taken me ages to actually get round to writing this, but we are finally Mr and Mrs Danks...woohoo!

The night before I went over to my mum’s house because my Aunties, Uncles and Cousins had travelled from near and far to come and celebrate our big day. We had a few drinks together and a Chinese, it was so lovely to see them all again after so long. I went back home later on (childless as my 3 children were been looked after by relatives) to try and wind down and prepare for the next day. I actually managed to sleep thankfully.

When the big day came around I woke at about 05:30 but stayed in bed for an hour or two more. A friend who was doing the bridal hair came bright and early at 08:00, we had a natter over a cuppa then got cracking, my two daughters who were flower girls, my now niece who was my bridesmaid and my MOH started to arrive over the next hour and took it in turns to have their hair done and we did our own make up. Things were going so smoothly with only a few “OMG” moments until I had a dress wobble thinking I had got too fat over one week to fit in it anymore because my MOH had a job getting me in it, I had a quick cry, called my mum who came to the rescue and things were all back on plan once again.

The cars arrived and we got to church on time to have a few photos before the ceremony. The ceremony was lovely and although we were told no photos during it, our friend who was our non professional photographer was snap happy all the way through! We had actually asked a few friends to take photos as they have decent cameras, it was a bit like being mobbed by the paparazzi at times, LOTS of photos taken, in fact a few family members though we had one professional photographer being followed by all his apprentices lol!

When we arrived at the venue we all went straight out onto the grounds as it was such a glorious day. We are actually in the process of going through a complaints procedure with the venue because everything that had been promised didn’t happen and every time something was meant to happen we had to send for a member of staff about 30 times, but never mind the place itself was beautiful and we were surrounded by so many family and friends.
The cake was cut my husband’s speech was fantastic he made me cry happy tears and he had also sorted the first dance himself, i didn’t know what it was going to be, he had mixed three songs together, it was fab! He then had a special second dance with my two daughters as he had just become their new Step Daddy.

Unfortunately later on my hubbys uncle had a funny turn and we had to ring an ambulance for him, it turned out to be nothing serious luckily and he has fully recovered now. To be honest though after this had happened we didn’t feel like celebrating and a lot of people left. A couple of hours later a few of us did get back up to dance to some really cheesy music and we still had fun.
At the end of the night we went to sit in our room and spent an hour going through and opening the cards and presents we couldn’t believe peoples generosity, and have managed to get some much needed furniture for our house with the money.
All in all a lovely day, some things I would of definitely of changed but they were out of my hands.
