Im getting married next year end of July :)
& am thinking about save the dates? do i need to do them. Most people including family i have told & did a text save the date & most replied to it.

But should i really do them just incase? or is it just an added extra?
We were thinking of sending invites out end of January/february anyway? to have an RSVP by end of may

We havent done STD's. Ours is also May bank holiday and most people know through word of mouth / fbk etc and to be honest you send invites out 3-4 months in advance so they'll get a heads up anyways! As it gets nearer especially from Jan people will be asking how plans are coming or just aware through overheard convos or parents talking etc!

I didn't send them out. just told people in conversation then sent invites out 5 months before. everyone we told when we set the date has RSVP back coming. So in my view they are not needed as no one couldn't make the date

I am getting married next July too and I am making own STD, in process of doing them this week. Even though I have told family friends etc. I want them to have something in writing so they don't forget and go booking holidays etc. We are sending invites out with Christmas cards to save on P+P. I would rather people know it then forget and people start booking holidays yr before plus we have a few people coming from abroad.

    Your choice tho.

I'm getting married in August and will be doing them as family members may book summer holidays and we have people coming from all over the country who will have to book accomodation. We live in a sea side town so it always booked up during the summer, so they need to book places early if they want to stay down for the night xxx

I'm doing them myself. Bought the card off the bay and using my own printer, most will be hand delivered and a lot are within the same household so won't cost much in postage.
I'm sending them as we're having a sun and giving people plenty of time to book days off work.
