I'm having EVERYTHING waxed!!! armpits, legs and lady garden lol

I'm considering getting a Brazillian less than a week before my wedding. Does anyone know how long this should last? Especially as I'm going on honeymoon straight after wedding! Will I need to take a razor just in case? xxx

Sorry to be so graphic lol

Once the hair is removed it will take approximately 4 weeks to grow back, however at the point of first waxing there will also be some hairs that are just below the surface, these will start to come through after a week or so, they will be sparse and not 'stubbly'. For first time waxing I always recommend two appointments 2 weeks apart, and then switch to monthly appointments. There isn't really time for you to do this, so there will be some regrowth whilst you're away. Maybe you could book in for a bikini line whilst on your honeymoon (book it late in the evening, so that it settles overnight before you head out into the sun again), or take a razor for a quick tidy up!

If the regrowth is very little then you could pluck them out, painful but effective!

As for being embarrassed, they do this all day everyday - they have seen a lot of lady gardens!!

Underarms hurt more than bikini lines. Take a couple of paracetamol an hour before your appointment.

As for the waxing i think you are sooooo brave, i get my eyebrows waxed coz i cant stand them being plucked but thats my limits....good luck and hope your h2b really appreciates it :-)

The more often you get waxed, the more you get used to the pain, and your threshold goes up. I used to get waxed on a regular basis (roughly once every 6 weeks), and each time I went, the lady went just a little bit closer. I was practically having a hollywood done after a while!
Then I went abroad for a year, didn't have a single wax, and when I came back, I could only just stand a brazillian, and that was with a few eeps! There was no way in hell she was getting anywhere near the amount off that she had previously.
If you ladies want to get started on waxing, just get a half leg done for a few times. Eventually, your upper leg will be hairy enough too (It's a lot finer, so doesn't need doing as often as your lower leg). Time after that, get a bikini line. By that point, you should be on really good terms with your waxer, and she will understand working you up to getting more done each time. It's just a case of getting used to it!

You are brave! I was completely put off bikini waxing 5 years ago when I had my first and only bikini wax. It was awful! I could ope with the pain whilst they were doing it but I was black and blue down there for about a month and then went a nice shade of purpley green! I don't know if the girl did it wrong or if I'm just one of lifes bruisers but never again. Trusty razor for me from now on!

I am having the works too. I had my lady garden done before my last holiday and the hair had started to grow back before the bruising had started to go and they weren't fine hairs it was all my hairs so gonna try the 2 week apart thing.

I used to work in the foofy theatres at work and as long as it was clean it didn't bother me.

Katie, just to say that you should NOT have bruising! Unless you have a clotting issue, in which case you shouldn't be able to be waxed, there should be no bruising. That's the sign of a poor waxer. Seek out an 'intimate waxing' specialist.

It depends on the waxing that you have done, I have had it done in college with a student first time and that hurt like hell as they are a lot slower and nervous plus its warm wax eith strips. Hot wax (not had this done yet) doesn't use strips as isn't that painful. I work with therapists and they explained the difference. You have to make sure that the skin is held tight when esp bikini line as this gets more hairs and is less painful as there is less skin to 'catch'. Always take painkillers about half hr before appt and never go when you are on period as you are more sensitive and this def hurts like hell. Plus bikini line is nothing compared to having upper lip done, now that was BAD, had to get ice on it asap to stop the reddness.

    You will be fine.

I love waxing people, in fact I love removing hair in general. I just hate having it done myself. Last time I had my wax pot out at home I attempted my own bikini line - never again! I have my lip threaded and cry like a baby, Vickie's right - give me bikini line over top lip any day!

I'm having full leg, bikini, underarm and Hollywood done. I used to wax all the time and my pain threshold is quite high. I find it's easier when a professional does it and as for embarrassing - I stopped waxing because a girl I went I school with (and who bullied me) started working at the only salon in the tiny town that I lived in. I didn't realise until she came in and we shared a awkward moment. I didn't have the nerve to ask for someone else!

I am actually booked in for a hollywood but Sam's told me she'll only go as far as she can! lol If I can only manage my bikini line then thats what i'll have but I want to do it ALL!!!

Vickie who the heck would want to go to be waxed when they are on their period? bleugh! surely that would be gross for both parties involved! xxx you'd be really self conscious anyway and when your waxer is down there i'm sure she wouldn't want to see that! thats a private time of the month for us ladies! I don't even like Ant touching me when I'm on I feel dirty I know thats really silly! but I've been on the Implant for 8 years (I have had 3 new ones put in) and I very rarely have a period

where are you going on honeymoon? I was told when i experimented last year the hair (especially legs) grow very quickly in the heat. My wax didnt last through a 2 week holiday, but not sure if that was just the beutician, ive not had it done since. Its not that painful, but i have alot of tattoo's so maybe im biased!!

@soon to be mrs mann - Bikini line is normally just the top at the edge of your pants although you can ask them to go a little lower down

I have been waxed before but had my 1st brazillian on saturday and very pleased with how it turned out. It was a little nippy but nothing too bad, booked in for 6 weekd time just before the wedding. It feels a little embarassing at the begininng but she sees it all the time so wasn't too bothered after she got started

I have a friend who fell asleep when having her legs waxed, she found it that relaxing!
I've never had a wax over my period, but I have the implant and don't get any atm, but I have had a wax over my estimated would-be period (had I not had the implant in), and it definitely hurt more. That's something I try to avoid where possible.

Everything went really really well and I would recommend it :) Although some of the wax didn't come off completely so I was sticking to my knickers a bit yesterday LMAO! xxx

I want to go a few times before the big day so im used to it and to make sure all the hairs behave etc and are cooperative!!

I suppose any time to start going and 'practicing' really? I just hate the thought of letting everything grow longer than i like before going!! x
