My husband had never really worn any jewlery untill a couple of years ago when I brought him a braclet that I had DAD wrote on and he always wears that infact don't think i've ever seen it off him. Then I thought well he isnt going to want to wear a ring we only got him a £30 titanium one because of the job he was doing at the time it would have got wrecked. but again he always keeps it on x

    Snap!!!

My H2B is also saying he wont wear a ring, has said he would wear it on a chain round his neck however but not sure if I like the idea of him not wearing it (I know lots of people men and women dont wear wedding rings but to me its something you should wear with happiness and pride).

Im gona keep trying and fingers cross i may win (wont hold my breath!)

i think you need to have a ring for the ceremony anyway? correct me if im wrong though.. but otherwise what do you do with the 'i give you this ring, as a symbol of my love, with my heart i cherish you, with my body i honour you' etc?

mine won't either due to the nature of his job (seen too many fingers mangled apparently). But will wear one on high days and holidays - am going for the cheaper version for his - Titanium or sommat similar.

Am pretty sure a ring isn't a requirement though - lots of blokes don't wear them.

I agree ShelleyM46 i said the same to my OH!

and it does take getting use to, took me a few weeks to get use to mine.

He cant see what the problem is him not having one but he ahd the cheek to ask why i wasnt wearing mine the other day when i had shut my finger in the car door and i took it off incase i could get it off (didnt want to risk having it cut off!) talk about double standards lol x

Neither of you NEEDS a ring legally if you didn't want one.
My H2B isnt wearing a ring either, and the ceremony is then sorted where only the bride accepts the ring.

I did think about getting a cheap ring for him for the ceremony, but I don't really care if I am honest. Its the old fashioned way for the man not to have a ring.,........Prince William didn't have one either.

My H2B won't be wearing a ring either, he really doesn't like jewlery and won't even wear a watch.
He will wear one for the ceremony but you don't have to. Men never used to be given a wedding ring and there are even vows for this.

Mine doesn't wear jewellery at all, not even a watch, he originally said he wasn't, then said he'd wear something very cheap (he loses everything lol!) and ended up with a £300 palladium ring. Our job is very manual, I think he was worried about it getting caught and stuff, but a lot of our friends in our industry have got marrie din the last few years, and they wear rings all the time with no problems. I really want him to wear it, I'm not really a jewellery person either, it took me a while to get used to my engagement ring, and it means a lot that he's willing to try at least! Although In can see it coming off after 6 months!

My h2b has said that he doesn't want to wear a ring but he will get a tattoo on his ring finger. Initailly I was quite hurt that he doesn't want to wear one, but then thought that he doesn't really like tattoos so it is sweet. He says its cause he doesn't like jewellry but we know people who don't do jewellry but wear their wear a wedding ring, my dad and our best friend included.
I have come up with the idea that we buy a cheap one for the ceremony and he trials it for a month to see if he can get used to it. Then if he doesn't like it he can get the tattoo.

i can see how ud be upset he doesnt want to wear a ring, my OH hasnt got a choice, there are too many 'bikes' at his workplace (saturday night pub), who have no respect for peoples relationships if there isnt a ring.
but Halebob85, i think thats a lovely idea, a tattoo really is for life, so shows hes in for the long haul!

Aw I hope those of you who'd H2B's won't wear a ring can talk them round.

I love seeing men with wedding rings it says to me "I'm committed to my lady and I want everyone to see that!" And that makes me feel warm and fuzzy :)
