All I asked of my bridesmaids was, can you get your own shoes?
I asked that they get Ivory patent heels......3 of them were happy with heels and the 4th one asked if it was OK to get flats because she cant walk in heels because of her back....yes of course its OK, I just really wanted the colours and styles to be as similar as possible as they are wearing knee length dresses and would be visible.

She text me last night as she is going shopping today to get them.......can they be white?
Errr, I would prefer you to not get white, but a dark Ivory or a pale cream.

Do they HAVE to be patent ones? I dont really like shiney shoes..?
Well everyone else has them, and I DID ask that you kept to the same design as much as possible.

What is this? just a week to go and STILL she is giving me a hard time over a pair of bloody shoes!
It wasn't such a big thing to ask of them, but she already wants the flat ones which I have said OK to because I wouldnt want her to be uncomfortable......but she wants a different style altogether it appears......is she just TRYING to be difficult? or am I getting stressed because the day is so close? I think she is trying to be difficult to be honest....what's the hardship in getting the style I want her to? why make such a big thing out of it.

I can feel a bridezilla moment coming on any minute now!

I would message her back saying that you want all three of them to have the same design and that ou are happy or her to har flats because of her back but they must be what you have asked for.

This should be part of the bridesmaids duty to make sure that the bride is happy!

Are your other two bridesmaids friends with her if they are maybe they could go with her?

My daughter is texting her today, to see if she wants to meet up for lunch......and then go with her to get the shoes......(to make sure she picks the right colour/style)

She is that kind of person that WOULD do this thinking it was funny, because its not her wedding.....she would think it funny to be the only one with flat shoes, that were also completely different to all the others in every way, JUST because I had asked her to get similar.

If she gets white flats that are completely different, I will just tell her they are not what I asked her to get and that they are not good enough......I mean c'mon......she has had 8 months to find them.

anne, i cant believe its only 8 days til your big day! woohoo!
I asked my bms to get the same shoes, or at least pretty burgundy ones!
one of my bms was the same (well her mother who is my sister was) they wanted her to have heels but she's 6ft tall without and i didnt want her to tower over my h2b (who's 6ft2) lol
It took me a about 4months to make it clear that she wasnt to wear heels, so they went and got her some flats....that are silver?!?!
Some people just want to put their input in even though its not up to them! N E X T have some nice flat shoes at the mo, you get her some and insist she wears them x

Tbh, I had a similar thing where I asked my FG mums if they could get ivory shoes for the girls as their dresses etc were ivory - one did, and my cousin (who's just split from his wife) was getting shoes for the other - he phoned me from the shop sounding a bit stressed then asked if he could get white rather than 'cream' - so I said ok, but was deep down a bit worried about the two girls having different shoes! On the day though they looked absolutely fine and I don't think from photos you can even see the difference!

Good job your daughter is going then and that she will ensure the right kind are purchased. I wanted my girls to have the same, but could not get the same for H2B's daughter as my two, but they have long dresses. I wanted totally different style and colour for my MOH as she has a totally different dress and it its knee length.

I cant believe that she has left it till 8 days before to go and get her shoes!! If she wont meet your daugter to go shoe shopping just send her another text reminding that they have to be ivory, turn it around and blame yourself sort of and say ' i know im being bridezilla but this is what i really want for my bridesmaids and your sorry but it is what you have envisaged from the start'' xx

i'd be tempted to find out what shoe size she is and go out and choose some for her as back up just in case. and if she turns up with the correct ones return the backup pair.
    don't let her win xx

Getting a back up pair is a good idea! Can't beleive how close she's left it though, I'd be going bridezilla all over my bms if they had had that much notice and left it that late!!

One of the reason I am buying BM shoes, they won't be expensive and hopefully they will wear them again. I am hoping BM dresses will be made by Jan/Feb so I got plenty of time to go shoe hunting. Did find a pair of champagne shoes as BM wearing Orange but MOH liked them but my aunt who is mother of BM is 13 didn't like them said they were old fashioned. So took them back.

I would be a little pissed too but then at least that will be the only worry of the day . I would recommend not looking at her feet but then if there a lot different I will then go tell her to change them xx
