Mom is giving me away as I believe that she is the one person that deserves too as she does everything for us. My dad refuses to give me away and even be at my day unless I make an effort with his awful fiancé she as made my life a living hell and I refuse to do this although it may only be for one day why should I go against everything that I believe for her she is the most vile person I have ever met. he only gets one chance as I am only child. But my nan and. Grandad and other family won't come because of this like there taking sides. Obviously it guts to no that he will not be there but I'm not having him try And ruin my day like he did my hen night last Friday by sending me a nasty message because I didn't invite her although we don't get on. Sorry long. Rant over x

Im sorry to hear that ): I dont understand some people, why would your own family take the side of his naff fiancé over you, hopefully they will come around... they might be trying to guilt trip you, but good on you for sticking to what you beleive in. At least you'll have your pride on your big day, all they will have is regrets

My birth Father left when I was 5 and never really show any interest in me until 5yrs ago. The man I call my dad ( my Mum's husband of 20yrs and whom I love dearly) Will not be giving me away though, I have asked my mum...... she is my Hero!!!! My dad will get another opportunity to do this in the future as I have 2 younger sisters My dad understands and was fine about it if fact he joked that he would have to do it twice.....lol

I think it's an honour for you to chose your mum and if people have a problem with that then that's their own problem. If your Dad gets upset by it then hopefully it will teach him to step back and look at the way he's behaving xx

Good for you!! I was in a similar position..
My dad refused to attend my wedding if my step dad was there & oviuosly i wanted them both there and for my dad to give me away.
We then decided to go abroad just the two of us & well OUR MUMS TURNT UP TO SUPRISE US so my mum ended up giving me away, was truely amazing & i wouldnt of wanted it any other way xx
