I am really determined that by my wedding day next year (May 2013) I will be happy with the size and shape I am.

I have found, 'the dress' and ordered it and it is stunning so want to look my best in it.

Since Xmas I have gone from a size 18 (top side of 18) to almost a size 14 (can squeeze into 14 but not really comfortably).

I have done this just through healthy eating but want to tone up too as have a horrible little fat belly still.

So have decided to start doing sit ups (morning and evening) and have ordered a zumba game for the wii (would ideally go to a class but with very long working hours not faeciable)

Has anyone had any success with Zumba? I had heard really good things.

I am really determined, want to reach my goal of size 12 by the wedding, dont think this is unreasonable goal, just got to try really hard now!

I love my Zumba! I do two hour long classes weekly so hopefully it starts to work soon as I'm also trying to lose weight! I think doing sit ups morning and night tho is too much. You will get bored very easily and if you want to tone muscle, it is better to give your muscle a lot one day until u are sore and then rest a day and so on. That causes something called Muscle hypertrophy which is basically your muscle building fibres and is what builds your muscles up for the toned look. The thing is I know quite a lot about exercise and nutrition but I don't follow my own example! I kno what I need to do to lose weIght and tone up but my willpower is severely lacking at the minute!!

Good time to be thinking about it! I've been messing about for the past year after losing quite alot of weight. I dont expect to be toned by our wedding in September but I would like to feel better about myself and to lose some inches so i'm attacking the gym big time. the one thing I would say is I've noticed such a difference since going to the gym sessions. if you can fit any in at all I would - the instructors not only keep you right on positions etc but the encouragement from the rest of your class is tremendous. I done a pump class followed by step yesterday and I'd never have pushed myself that far at home x

Firstly congrats on the weight loss. That is a big acheivement.

I have zumba for Kinect and its not quite the same as a real class but it will def get you moving.

As with the sit ups, you want to be doing about 4x week, plus you don't want to do sit ups, as this only targets the upper abs, you also want to do, crunches, leg raises, side bends plus many more, as this will target lower abs and obliques. You want to make sure you are doing sit ups/crunches correctly, as the majority of people don't relax neck and shoulders so they are using them rather than the abs.

I am a personal trainer so try googling some videos of the correct way and different ab exercises. or I can send you some.

    Good luck.

I have Zumba, though i havent played it for a while, but you definately feel it working. I've been told by my boss, (who has shread 3stone in 6months!) that doing all your exercises when you wake up is the best time due to the fact your regular muscles are just starting to get ready, so you have to use your reserve muscles while the regular muscles you use wake up really!

    Good luck with it :)

I think that zumba is great to loose weight! I have been doing zumba for a while and I am sure that if I was on a diet at the same time, I would deffo lose weight. Today I have seen in a website called vowscher a deal with a personal trainner to loose weight and it might help more and you can get more motivated...

I have been doing squats and lunges every morning, increasing by 5 each day (am on day 20 and up to 90 of each per day) and having a rest day every 3 days. Going for a long walk with my partner every day when get back from work (after a lot of walking around at work) and doing sit ups every evening before bed (have increased to 30 per day- when find it too easy increase by another 5).

Also been eating healthily, making sure to have breakfast every day and increasing the amount of fruit/ vegetables. Decreasing 'treats' and lowering portion sizes.

Also been increasing the amount of water based drinks been drinking.

Been cleansing, toning and moisturising every day too.

Feel so much better in myself, and with 2 weeks to go until the wedding feel the best I have felt in a long time.

Definitely going to continue after the wedding as feeling so much better all around :-)
