    Hiya Girls,

Am just looking at save the date invitations and am not sure if only to give to the guest attending through the day for the meal or if i have to send to people invited to the reception as well?
Don't want to send them to the reception people for them to think they are invited through the day!!

    Any ideas?
    xx

I'm not doing save the dates. We're getting married in Cyprus and can only invite 18 people so I'm going straight to full invites.

I sent mine to just day guests which is mostly family anyway. I did feel bad giving them to some people and not others who are only invited to the evening in case they thought they wern't invited at all.

Thanks everyone, it makes sense just to invite the daytime people rather than those at night as welll. x

Why not have two sets one for the wedding and one set for the evening guests, your evening guests will still need to book time off and babysitters and rooms ect xx

We sent them to the wedding guests attending during the day. We had our evening reception back home after our honeymoon, so didn't bother with save the dates for that, just invitations.

i'd send them to everyone personally.but then i didnt send them at all, i just sent out the normal invites :) just make it clear on them what they are invited to.

on ours we have them printed saying they are invited to ceremony and evening reception only and then for the day guests we included an extra little piece of paper saying meal as well, because most of the meal guests were just family so knew anyway :)

and i had an invite to a friends wedding which i read as ceremony and evening and i just asked to confirm with her but she said its the whole day we are invited to :)

so just be clear :) (i know i've gone off on a tangent to invites.. sorry!)

    xx

If your sending them to evening guests, make sure you make it clear that it is for the evening o only. My brother got an std and booked the day off, then just got an evening invite, so he was pretty gutted. The invites only came out a month before the wedding and his girlfriend had already bought a dress xx

If I got a save the date I would expect to go all day to be honest, so because of this I'm not sending them to the evening guests

Mym72 - you have given me a brilliant idea! We've been struggling to plan the day, so having a separate evening do after the honeymoon could be just the ticket! Sorry to go off topic a bit, but then I suppose there is the potential that two different dates makes it crystal clear whether they've been invited to the day bit or not :-)
