Its a slow day at work today and my mind is whizzingwith wedding stuf.....surprise, surprise!

Anyways, i get married on a Friday and we go on honeymoon on the Sunday.

On the Saturday we are going to meet up with family/friends that have stayed for a late lunch. I want a really nice outfit for that day....any suggestions? I want it to be special but as it will only be a lunch nothing too OTT.

Also, what is everyone planning on wearing en route to the airport/honeymoon?

My travel outfit is always the same: white linen trousers, black flat Gina sandals (they're smart and also slip-on, so easy to slip on and off on the plane), a black strappy top/black vest top, a cardigan, a black linen jacket, black pashmina, and nice jewellery. Reason being it's comfortable, but still looks nice (I HATE tracksuits!), plus it's practical: it can be cold in England, or at the airport/on the plane, so the layers are handy, then once we land, I stuff my cardigan, pashmina and jacket in my hand luggage, and have an outfit that's cool in the heat. I also always pop a pair of socks in my hand luggage, as my feet get cold on the plane.

So, I'd suggest wearing something similar, or something like a maxi dress, which again is comfortable but smart. Things I personally would avoid, esp on a longhaul flight, would be tight or restrictive clothing (eg skinny jeans and boots), things that will have you hot and sweaty as soon as you land (so, again, jeans etc), and anything too skimpy, as the AC on the plane can be chilly (I never get how people fly long-haul in tiny shorts and vest tops, I'd be freezing)

For lunch, I second the idea of a cream dress :-)

It depends where you're travelling to and what time of day you're travelling. We went to Malta on honeymoon and the flight was at 6am from Manchester. We travelled in our usual jeans and t shirt - but regretted it when we arrived. We got to Malta for lunchtime but couldn't check in at the hotel til 2pm. We finished up walking along the prom in the heat, absolutely baking lol. Even a drink and ice lolly didn't help lol.

As for lunch with family the day after the wedding - maybe smart jeans and a dressy top (something smart casual that you usually wear for lunch out?) Speak to your husband - is he wearing shirt with trousers/jeans or the full shirt and tie outfit? Work together and try and blend - that's what we tend to do.

    Thanks girls.

Am going to look for a lace cream shift dress for my lunch with the family. Will probably fly in something comfy as we are going to Vegas so its a faily long flight.

I always fly in the same 'outfit' combats (which are nice and roomy) and a vest top, layered with a thin long sleeved top and a fleece or hoodie, so I can take off and put on lots of things - also second about the socks as my feet get cold too! I always wear trainers that I can slip in and out of easily too. I also have a pashmina in my hand luggage. The heat in Vegas will hit you as soon as you leave the plane and you'll be grateful to be able to take the layers off!

I agree with the dress for the lunch on the Saturday.

I have a cream dress with a little gold detail on it for the day after the wedding (would love to wear my dress the day after so this is my substitute) And am either going to wear a maxi dress and little cardigan to travel in, or I have just brought a jumpsuit and I might wear this with a cardigan. Either way comfy but slightly dressy (which is me all over!)

Also agree with cream dress for lunch :)
