    Hello all,

Our wedding theme is modern black, white and red and i have found some lovely invitiations (pic below) but they are soooo expensive. i dont want ribbons, glitter, beads, etc but wanted a printed graphic.

I wondered if anyone would have any ideas on how to recreate this graphic and then using it for a invite?

any ideas grately apprichiated as i am not artistic enough and dont have a clue on how?

If you can find the image I can guide you to putting them together. I have made my own stationary and use to make greeting cards as a hobby.

Ah Leigh that would be wonderful.... the image is above but i would need to change the names on it as taken from the website. Do you think it would look nice on folded card invite with the image on the front and then i can print the invite details inside? would i need to do the insides on paper and stick them in or get a good printer to do it directly onto the card? Thanks chick xxx

Paper will be best. Sticking the inserts in will be easiest but don't use glue. I can guide you the best way to do this too as sounds easy but can be tricky. I will send you my msn on your wall and can help you from there. Yes I do think the gate fold will look good. xxxx

gatefold the image so half the heart is on one side and half on the other and it opens with the details inside, i printed my inserts on lilac paper and then glue dotted them in to keep them in place rather than glue as it crumbled the paper

I used double sided craft tape to put my inserts in. You can pull a little of the backing away to create a small tab. Once the insert is in place pull the tabs slowly to stick the rest. Put the tape around each edge.

I had all the intentions in the world to create something lovely then when I started playing around I wasn't confident that things would look good... and the stress. I got the idea to use VPrint from a thread on here and found something online, played around in a free editing programme I downloaded called Inkscape and made all of my stationery using the same things. Then rather than standard cards I had address cards for the venue made (business cards), information cards, thank you cards and sorry you can't make it cards on one size standard postcards and the actual invites using one sided oversized postcards which I had plain back (I have black white & red theme too!). I was so happy with the printing and then to put together we used a heart shaped punch to put nice holes in each and tied them together with a ribbon. Easy (ish) but really happy with final results (pix in one of my albums) bought really good quality black envelopes from bay of e too (if you want link let me know) VPrint ones are not good at all. Good Luck! :)
