Ok I have had a go at writing our own vows. I got him to write down all the stuff as suggested by a wedding website then I have put it into a paragraph. Let me know what you all think.
My vows Tubby Hubby, I am so lucky to have found the one person I want to annoy for the rest of my life. Even though we have a fiery relationship at times I know it will never be boring, especially when you suprise me with your romantic side. When I'm feeling down you and your fluffy chest always cheers me up, even if it is just by tickling my nose or the way you tell me I'm beautiful when I feel like a mess. I look forward to many happy playful years together.
His vows Iffey Wiffey, the day you said yes was the happiest day of my life until today. I love the way you are so caring and always try to make me laugh when I'm feeling bad. I love the way you look beautiful even in your pjs. I look forward to lots of cuddles, kisses and tickle fights in the years to come.

its nice that its personal but advice given to me was to make sure they are vows and not just talking about how much you love each other. If you can add a few of those so its mainly focussed on viws (but dont lose the personal touch you have) then this would be great.
Here are my vows. I just need to find a way of making them personal. David, I am so lucky today to be marrying my best friend. From the moment we first met, I knew it would lead to something special. I cant believe how wonderful life truly is now you have come in to my world. Hmm I'll have to stick some of that in. How about something along the lines of I promise to love care and annoy you for the rest of our lives? We do argue quiet a bit about silly things like me telling him off in the middle of the supermarket for trying to put cream cakes at the bottom of a carrier bag.

That was you are not using the word annoy and you are showing a proper example of your relationship. Its something funny that people may laugh at. Not sure annoy is the right word but I know what you are trying to say. I will have a think x

I think it's fine if they're an addition to the standard vows, but otherwise I think Suzky is right.
How about i promise to tell you off when you try to put squishables in the bottom of shopping bags.
He does things like that nearly every time we go shopping, potatoes on top of bread eggs in with tins, cleaning products with veg. He insists on using the self checkouts everytime we go to the supermarket so I can't organise the belt in some kind of order.

im trying to think of how to rephrase fiery relationship. Again I know what you are trying to say but everything needs to be a positive. It needs to be included but not sure how to word it.
How about... I know there will be times where I know Im right and you are wrong (cue laugh... hopefully) but at least I can promise you as a result that our relationship will never be boring. We are going for one of the options for vows they gave us (can't remember which one of the top of my head but I know it's not the one with solemly in it as I think we might get a bit tongue tied over that one). This is for the promises bit.

promises and vows are the same hun. I asked my registrar and she said that we choose either to read the ones from the booklet (pick from a choice) or write our own. You can maybe ring them and ask them if you can have both though? i.e. do yourown promises and the promises from the booklet.

Yea I did tell him where to go when he tried to cuddle up to me after he had made me carry all the shopping home (good thing I took a backpack) but once he apologised for it as he had only had 3 hours sleep.

Love yours suzky that's something like I would write. We are getting married in church and have to say the traditional vows by law. But I thought about puting a card together to give to him to open on the morning of the wedding. Better get my finger out. Cup cake personaly if you want some humour in your vows then yours will be fine. But I think the other one will surprise him.

me too I am fed up of work tho.... 3 days woooop and then 6 weeks off! I cant wait. Good luck writing them. let me know how they turn out. I wrote mine over a year ago and have been changing them every few months so you will find you do a lot of tweaking. Im still not 100% happy with mine as I want something more personalised but its hard with vows. If it was a speech it would be different as I could get away with a lot more.

Yea it has to have humour in it as we make each other laugh alot. He thought I was having a fit when I started jumping up and down with excitement when I got my dress then when I told him he just laughed at me and said yes dear.
I've probably got to write most of his speech too so that everything important is in there just leave gaps for (insert story here) for him to personalise it.

oh no thats not good. Hopefully you can enjoy your day off soon. You sound a lot like me. I get so hyperactive over silly small things. I wonder if he will mention it as I am not seeing his speech or vows. When I went to the venue I came back to his shop and wouldnt stop bouncing up and down until he agreed to see it the next weekend haha! I didnt care he had customers.
