Hi everyone, I am a 2013 bride 2b on August 3rd. Was just wondering how much planning other 2013 brides have done? So far me and h2b have booked the venue, music, photographer and cars-is there anything else I need to consider at the minute or am I time enough? My h2b's brother is getting married next Wednesday the 11th July and everyone keeps reminding me it'll be us next and we need to start planning everything and they are stressing me out already! Are they right and should I be more worried about the planning or am I time enough???????

Hi Gemma
I got engaged in January 2012 so not long ago and we have date set for 11th May 2013.
So far I have done the following:
Booked Church Booked reception venue - all food (canapes, 3 course wedding breakfast & evening buffet) and drink included in package apart from evening bar (paid deposit) Given notice (fingers crossed all is well and we get the marriage licence in 2 weeks time) Sent out STD's Bought wedding insurance Booked Photographer (paid deposit) Booked Hair and makeup (paid deposit) Booked DJ (paid deposit) Booked Wedding cars x2 (paid deposit) Booked Cake (paid deposit) Booked Marriage preparation course (paid full fee) Bought 2nd class stamps (before price increase) Bought my shoes Got the Gold and Red Chinese red packets for the wedding favours Got the Chinese double happiness signs for part of the venue decorations
We've also got a provisional booking on lady to do all flowers/bouquets and venue dressing. I'm still to contact the church florist to do the church decorations.
Have ideas for the venue decorations.
I'm pretty sure I'm close to deciding on my dress.
We've decided on our honeymoon destination (Hawaii with a few days stop over in LA).
I think you're on track hun. Just get a planner together so you know everything you need to do and when so you can tick it off as you go along. xx
Married the love of my life on Saturday 11th May 2013 xxx
Had our dream perfect honeymoon in Hawaii!

We got engaged in December last year and have pretty much everything we've decided on booked for our wedding in March (30th) next year.
Venue Registrar Photographer Choc fountain Chair covers DJ
Deposits paid on all those
Dress is bought, veil is bought, Need shoes, need jewellery, need to decided if I need/want a bolero
Things to do Make up centre pieces (vases bought need the lego flowers) Make up Bouquet (need lego flowers) Make up favour boxes Buy the choc for the favour boxes Buy lego for our guest wishing tree board signing thing Sort suit hire out (but they have been chosen) Buy rings Buy invites Order cake from M&S
But there's no rush to do any of this just yet.
If I were you I'd get the main things booked and deposits down and then you can just cruise and do things as and when you want/need.

I got engaged in December last year and am getting married on 12th April 2013.
So far i have booked and paid deposits for:-
Venue Dress Shoes Photographer Flowers Cake Invitations Favours DJ Honeymoon
My to do list is:-
Rings Transport Suits Bridesmaid dresses.
I would concentrate on the big things like the venue & the dress and everything else will just fall into place.
You have plenty of time hun. We're getting married in September 2013, and only have our ceremony / reception package and our rings deposited for. Might make an effort to get a bit further on getting dresses sorted while H2b is away, but by and large we're on planning hold until the end of September. Depending on what you want, it doesn't have to take long to put it all together, some stuff will be cheaper if you book it in advance though! Don't worry about what your friends and family are saying, I think it's just how people think sometimes, it's nice that they're taking an interest, but maybe next time they put pressure on you tell them that you're planning is going just fine and according to schedule, just keep plugging away at it and it'll all be fine!

Thanks ladies for the info. You seem to be really well organised, a lot more so than me, maybe i should be looking into more stuff than i am. I think I've been putting more stuff off because i had trouble finding a job for a long time, i graduated last July and moved to Liverpool with my h2b for his teaching cert and couldn't get any work. Now we are back home in northern ireland my fella has completed his teaching and is now looking for a full time job and luckily for me i recently got a job that will help us put down more deposits for other things. My next priority will be my dress after my h2b's brother gets married next week, but i have no clue what i want!!!!! Awwwwwh, and here i was thinking that part would be enjoyable??
