I need two more readings. I have one for after we are husband and wife but need two for before we are.

The one for after is :
Reading three to be done by Nan after we are married:
    Chapter One of One Thousand
    by O. J. Preston

For two people this dawn brought on a magical day
Now husband and wife they head on their way
As a boat setting sail may their journey begin
With calmest of waters, most helpful of wind
And if they should stumble upon turbulent sea
May it pass them unharming - leave them be.
For here are two people whom love has well bitten
Here opens their book which has yet to be written
As the first page unfolds and their life inks its path
May it write a true story where forever love lasts
Let their journey be happy till death do they part
Of one thousand chapters may this be the start.

The union by Robert Fulghum is good for before - thats what I'm having

You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks — all those sentences that began with “When we’re married” and continued with “I will” and “you will” and “we will” — those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe” — and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding.

The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things we’ve promised and hoped and dreamed — well, I meant it all, every word.”

Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another — acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this is my husband, this is my wife.

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

My step dad is reading this one

    Love is a temporary madness
It erupts like volcanoes and then subsides
And when it subsides you have to make a decision
You have to work out whether your root was so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part
Because this is what love is
    Love is not breathlessness
    It is not excitement
It is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion
That is just being in love, which any fool can do
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away
And this is both an art and a fortunate accident.
Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground
And then when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches
They find that they are in fact one tree, not two

My sister is reading this one:

The Art Of A Good Marriage
    Wilferd Arlan Peterson

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.
A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through all the years.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.
It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humour.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner.

    I like this.

From "Gift From The Sea" Anne Morrow Lindbergh

When you love someone, you do not love them all the time, in exactly the same way, from moment to moment. It is an impossibility. It is even a lie to pretend to. And yet this is exactly what most of us demand. We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships. We leap at the flow of the tide and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible, in life as in love, is in growth, in fluidity - in freedom, in the sense that the dancers are free, barely touching as they pass, but partners in the same pattern.

    Or
    On Your Wedding Day
Today is a day you will always remember
    The greatest in anyone's life
You'll start off the day just two people in love
And end it as husband and wife.
It's a brand new beginning, the start of a journey
With moments to cherish and treasure
And although they'll be times when you both disagree
These will surely be outweighed by pleasure
You'll have heard many words of advice in the past
When the secrets of marriage were spoken
But you know that the answers lie hidden inside
Where the bond of true love lies unbroken
So live happy forever as lovers and friends
It's the dawn of a new life for you
As you stand there together with love in your eyes
From the moment you whisper ‘I do'
And with luck all your hopes and your dreams can be real
May success find its way to your hearts
Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of joys
But today is the day it all starts
    Anon

    and this

    The Beauty of Love
The question is asked: “Is there anything more beautiful in life than a young couple clasping hands and pure hearts in the path of marriage? Can there be anything more beautiful than young love?” And the answer is given: “Yes, there is a more beautiful thing.
"It is the spectacle of an old man and an old woman finishing their journey together on that path. Their hands are gnarled but still clasped; their faces are seamed but still radiant; their hearts are physically bowed and tired but still strong with love and devotion. Yes, there is a more beautiful thing than young love. Old love.”

Im having this one its by John dillet freeman and is called blessing for a marriage.

May your marriage bring you all the exquisite excitements a marriage should bring, and may life grant you also patience, tolerance, and understanding.

May you always need one another - not so much to fill your emptiness as to help you to know your fullness.

May you need one another, but not out of weakness.

May you want one another, but not out of lack.

May you entice, but not compel one another.

May you embrace, but not encircle one another.

May you succeed in all important ways with one another, and not fail in the little graces.

May you look for things to praise, often say, "I love you!" and take no notice of small faults.

If you have quarrels that push you apart, may both of you hope to have good sense enough to take the first step back.

May you enter into the mystery which is the awareness of one another's presence - no more physical than spiritual, warm and near when you are side by side, and warm and near when you are in separate rooms or even distant cities.

May you have happiness, and may you find it making one another happy.

May you have love, and may you find it loving one another.

    One of ours:

"Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, if you're blue,
I'll wrap my heart in ribbons, just for you.
    Thursday, Friday, Saturday, it's true.
Anything you ask, I'll say, I do.

    Anytime you want me,
You can call from near or far.
    Anytime you need me,
I'll come running where you are.

You can tear my heart apart,
    Or take it whole.
And if you want my heart,
    I'll give my soul.
And if you want my heart, well take it."

Some of these are a bit cringey if you imagine Grandad Frank reading them lol-

    IN LOVE MADE VISIBLE
    ~ By Mary Swenson ~

In love are we made visible
    As in a magic bath
    are unpeeled
    to the sharp pit
    so long concealed

    With love's alertness
    we recognize
    the soundless whimper
    of the soul
    behind the eyes
    A shaft opens
    and the timid thing
    at last leaps to surface
    with full-spread wing

    The fingertips of love discover
    more than the body's smoothness
    They uncover a hidden conduit
    for the transfusion
    of empathies that circumvent
    the mind's intrusion

In love we are set free
    Objective bone
and flesh no longer insulate us
    to ourselves alone
    We are released
and flow into each other's cup
    Our two frail vials pierced
    drink each other up

    MARRIAGE
~ By Mary Weston Fordham ~

The die is cast, come weal, come woe,
    Two lives are joined together,
For better or for worse, the link
Which naught but death can sever.
The die is cast, come grief, come joy
    Come richer, or come poorer,
If love but binds the mystic tie,
    Blest is the bridal hour.

    'Love is A Great Thing'

Love is a great thing, yea, a great and thorough good
    By itself it makes that is heavy light;
and it bears evenly all that is uneven.

    It carries a burden which is no burden;
    it will not be kept back by anything low and mean;
it desires to be free from all wordly affections,
and not to be entangled by any outward prosperity,
    or by any adversity subdued.

    Love feels no burden,
    thinks nothing of trouble,
attempts what is above its strength,
    pleads no excuse of impossibility.
It is therefore able to undertake all things,
    and it completes many things,
and warrants them to take effect,
where he who does not love would faint and lie down.

    Though weary, it is not tired;
    though pressed it is not straitened;
    though alarmed, it is not confounded;
but as a living flame it forces itself upwards and securely passes through all.

Love is active and sincere, courageous, patient, faithful, prudent and manly.

    Thomas à Kempis

Loving the ones on here some great ones - I like this one

If you can always be as close
    And as happy as today,
Yet be secure enough to grow
    And change along the way.
If you can keep for you alone
Your love as man and wife,
Yet find the time to share your joy
    With others in your life.
If you can be as one
And walk through marriage hand in hand,
Yet still support the goals and dreams
That each of you have planned.
If you can dare to always go
    Your separate ways together,
Then all the wonder of today
    Will stay with you forever

    We are having this:

    Should I fall behind

We said we'd walk together baby come what may
That come the twilight should we lose our way
If as we're walking a hand should slip free
    I'll wait for you
    And should I fall behind
    Wait for me

We swore we'd travel darling side by side
We'd help each other stay in stride
But each lover's steps fall so differently
    But I'll wait for you
And if I should fall behind
    Wait for me

Now everyone dreams of a love lasting and true
But you and I know what this world can do
So let's make our steps clear that the other may see
    And I'll wait for you
    If I should fall behind
    Wait for me

Now there's a beautiful river in the valley ahead
There 'neath the oak's bough soon we will be wed
Should we lose each other in the shadow of the evening trees
    I'll wait for you
    And should I fall behind
    Wait for me
    Darling I'll wait for you
    Should I fall behind
    Wait for me

It brings a lump to my throat just reading it so I keep reading it over and over so I don't cry on the day!! Xx

I found a book called "the love in my heart" by Tim Bugbird, which I'm contemplating having the middle part as a reading (its a kids book about two rabbits):

    Big and Boo were resting,
After bouncing in the forest all day.
They were a long way from home,
    And Boo was very tired.

"I don't think I can make it all the way back to the burrow" said Boo,"my paws are just too sore".
Big smiled and took Boo's hand.
"Well I know you can, and do you know why?" Said Big
"Because with love in our hearts, we can do anything!"
As they walked, Big began to explain...

The love in our hearts could scent every flower.
The love in our hearts could cloak every tree.
There's no doubt in my mind,
    We could fill every river
    With ripples of love
All the way to the sea.
The love that we share could colour a rainbow,
With plenty left over to light up the sky.
And the love in our hearts
    Could cap every mountain
    With soft, snowy blankets
    Of caring piled high.
The love in our hearts could change thunder to song,
And carpet a pathway, no matter how long.
The love in out hearts could turn grey skies to blue.
With love we can do anything,
    Just me and you."

    And before they knew it,
Big and Boo were home snuggled up in their cosy burrow.
    "I love you" whispered Big,
    But Boo was sound asleep.
