You don't need them at all, I found they are just a nice way of giving guest's the head's up when the wedding is going to take place, so they have plenty of notice. Seen as your sending your invite's out at the end of next month, i wouldn't see the point of sending save the dates out now :) x

This close I would say no just do the invites!
We are having them but are sending them out a year to the day of the wedding because we are getting married on a sunday and most ppl have to travel so need the time of work etc!

we did save the date cards and the venue messed us about so we have had to change the wedding and now call everyone and tell them to ignore the save the date! i would just tell people instead! xx
We did guitar picks as save the date cards, cost about £40 for 50 of them. We loved them, but some people didn't quite get it!We sent ours out a year before the wedding, if you are sending your invites out in a matter of weeks there is no point. You could just call or email the people that might need an extra heads up, say if they are coming from overseas, but otherwise it isn't necessary. You could always make origami hearts, and write the date on them if you've got good handwriting, nice and cheap. Although we got lotsof papercuts just thinking of testing that idea out!!!

There is no point if you are sending your invites out at the end of the month. We send save the date magnets out about 6 months before the invites.. x

I first thought the same thing, then decided we really should. We are sending our save the dates out about 6months before the invites, so that people can get time off work and book too come over (some family live abroad, some live at the other end of the country to us, others are in the army and so forth so they need too get time off well in advance). All in all, you don't really need them if your just sending them a little before the invites or if people don't really need the warning for time off or travelling. -That's my way of looking at it anyways.

I live in the very north of Scotland but all my family live in England. I'm giving them to away guests, so they can arrange travel, holidays from work etc xxxxx

Thank you Ladies :) Dont think we will bother with them as pretty much all the family know anyways xXx

Nah, not with only 8 months to go, I'm not, purely because I hope that this way I might have a couple of cancellations which means my guest list is shorter!!!

You normally send save the date a year and invites 6 months so I would just sent the invites x
