I was watching bridecilla yesterday and it made me wonder if we’re getting married by a registrar at our chosen venue, do we have a rehearsal of the ceremony the day before like you do at a church wedding? Thanks in advance for any replies Adele x

Ive been wondering this too lately and honestly I have no idea lol The first time I got married was in a church and as we lived 300 miles away from where we got married we didnt actually have a rehearsal then lol Might be nice to have one this time just to say yeah I done that lmao think I will have to ring the venue/registra and find out maybe

We have to book an appointment 2 weeks before the big day with the wedding co-ordinator at our registry office. They will go through the cerimony with us and we must have our music ready on a cd which they will approve (nothing religious.) We can choose to enter the room together after our interview which we can have done together or be interviewed seperately and then me walk down the room to h2b. I dont know if this is exclisive to our registrar (Salford) or whether its the same practise at all registry offices x
We are being married by a registrar at a venue at our choice and i asked about a rehearsal and they said no we dont have one but dont know if thats the same everywhere xxx

My sister and BIL had a civil ceremony at their venue (same as reception so all day under one roof) and they didn't have a rehersal, don't think civil ceremonys have them xx

LegoBride are you getting married at the town hall in Swinton? if so they should of given you an information pack with everything in from choice of ceremony to music, readings etc when you gave notice.
CommentAuthorLegoWife
No it's the Worsley Court house (in Worsley obviously lol) we have got an info pack from Salford registry office. I should check it again really, but I'm pretty sure we have a rehearsal or at least an appointment to go over the ceremony.

Worsley court house is lovely and you'll have loads of lovely settings for photos like near the canal. Are you having a big wedding?
CommentAuthorLegoWife
Not really big, there's only 60 guests and maybe a few more for the evening. I think it's just the right size for what we needed. It does have some lovely places for photos, down the road a bit there's a lovely arched bridge over the canal!

We're having about 60 guests too, it did'nt start off with that many but it just seems to have grown and grown lol x

Our registrar offers an evening rehearsal for up to 5 different couples to talk through what will happen but not a rehearsal in the traditional sense. Oh and we have to pay for it
CommentAuthorXbox widow
You ave to pay for it! thats discusting hun.

Our registrar offered us to have an appointment 2 weeks before if we felt we needed one to run through everything, but all our paperwork, vows, music selection etc have been approved and confirmed so we felt that we didnt need one... They've said that they will meet the groom and best man 30 mins before hand to run through any last details and then myself 10 mins before just in case theres anything extra needed to know... Other than that I think that its entirely personal preference with ours if we have one or not xx

we get the opportunity to discuss our wedding day, but no rehearsal :( x x
