Wedding Forum - Need help with colour scheme - New poll for...

Hi Everyone

I would really appreciate your opinions on my colour scheme. Originally I was having just black & ivory, apart from my dress which is red and a petal curtain which is baby pink with a hint of fuscia. The following things will stay as they are:

Due to budgets I was doing my own centrepieces, chair covers and napkins, which were ivory foam roses, black chair covers with ivory chair sashes, black table runners, ivory table cloths and black napkins with a ivory foam rose as a napkin ring. I have now decided to have my centrepieces made by a florist and am now having them with pink baby's breath, hot pink hydrangea's and red roses.

What I need your advice on is whether I still have the black chair covers and just have either red/baby pink or fuscia sashes to tie everything together? Keep the black napkins and use an alternative as a napkin ring? Keep the black table runners?

I have found a few photo's on the internet and I'm not sure whether it looks weird with black chair covers, a coloured sash and then an ivory table cloth?

Or I should just have ivory table cloths, ivory or red/baby pink/fuscia napkins and ivory chair covers with a red/baby pink or fuscia sash?

Really sorry for how much detail I have gone into, but you can imagine I am having a bit of a meltdown over it! lol

Hmm, haven't voted because I'm really torn!! Usually I'd go for the ivory chair covers straight away as I agree with millz that it lightens the room, but those pics you have with the black covers are really striking. The sashes stand out better against the black too I think... What sort of venue is it? Will the room be quite light anyway, or is it a bit dark and would it need brighter colours to lighten it? I mean, in the first pic you have with black chair covers, magenta sash, the black looks really nice because the overall effect is still quite bright, whereas in the pic just after I think the room looks very dark...though I suppose it could have been taken later on in the night...

Then I might be brave and chance the black chair covers...!

My partner obviously doesn't know anything about my dress, but I have shown him every other photo on here and he really likes the black chair covers. I hope a few more people vote, so I can see if most people like the black best :)

Thank you for your opinions and I have decided to go with the black chair covers, I am still unsure but my partner loves them so.....

Anyway my next dilemna is what colour chair sash & table runner should I have? I already have some black table runners, but I wasn't sure whether I should have the same colour as the chair sashes?

Hi, I am in a similar quandary as my scheme is charcoal grey and baby pink. Most of the decoration and centrepieces will be pink so I have just booked charcoal chair covers. I really like them and think it would be a good way to incorporate our main colour but I'm concerned it will look too dark and will it be silly with white table cloths:/

The inspiration photos you've posted look good though. Only problem for me is that our venue is not as light as yours but is still ok I think as has huge windows. But then it gets dark early when our wedding is :/

im not sure if you want your dress to stand out id avoid having any red x
