London prices generally are expensive. I'm struggling to find less than around £1,000 for everything. But this one really pushed that to the next level! I asked for 5 bouquets, 8 button holes, 3 corsages, tall table centres for 10 tables and some other venue dressing. I'm reading ****************** average flower spend is between 400-600. Where can I find this?! Aghhh...

I asked a famous flower person for a qoute just to be nosy on prices LOL and even he was no where near that and his work is AMAZING!!!
Look outside of london and see if they are willing to travel or maybe go for silk?
Mine are all silk and Ive gone for something AMAZING for me with a few vintage broochs in which cost half my budget lol but I get to keep it forever as its silk and I get a free matching button hole for h2b. The flower girls are having crystal wands (£25) and the bridesmaids are having a mixture of roses and crystals in their bouquets (£35) then the buttonholes will match the bridesmaids with roses n crystals (4 double roses, 4 single roses all with crystals) All in cost just under £400

Definitely going to continue the search. Florists from Essex may be the way to go! This one is on a lot of blogs and listed in wedding flower magazine so I knew she was going to be more than most but didn't expect that!

To put it into perspective, you can get a whole wedding for,that price, including photos- OK, its really thrifty, but it can be done! I think your florist is taking mickey taking to the next level.

I'm welcoming recommendations for Essex/Kent/Surrey florists!! :-0 I can't work out whether she was charging off the scale to put me off.... as I mentioned a few times different options of cutting costs. My mum says to call and work out how to reduce it, but I can't see how this can even be re-negotiated!

You're right. There's no way you can negotiate down from two grand. Impossible. I would be interested to hear what sort of figure your mum had in mind!
I'm assuming the flowers are real for this price? But I think you could be right in that she may have deliberately put in a horrendous quote to put you off. I would chat to her again, just to ask how she can justify that price, because that is just plain ridiculous.

2,000??? yowza. u can probably hire the whole of chelsea flower show for that. u tried artificial flowers? we're having foam. we got quoted £600 just for my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquet, 6 button holes and 4 coursages. and for foam and silk we're getting the same plus table decs, cake decs, plus flower girl basket and petels for £185 x

I was quoted something similar for the same spread of flowers. 4 bouquets 4 buttonholes 10 tall centre peices and 2 pedastools. All seasonal flowers. I think it is London and surrounding area. This florist was in Buckinghamshire she is extremely good and recommended by venue but I'm going to look around. I love the idea of having lots of beautiful flowers but how many people really notice??? And we are going on honeymoon the next day so I'm torn, not sure there really worth it xxx
