We have a veggie option sorted but we can't decide to go with beef or chicken. I said the majority would probably choose chicken but OH disagrees. What would you rather have? Or what do you think the majority of people would normally choose as it would be a lot more for us to have both as a choice. So we need to settle on one!x
CommentAuthorMrsRowan2be
For me it would have to be chicken but thats because that the only meat I really like. My guests will be having chicken, it does seem to be a safer option in my opinion.
Getting married 29th June 2013!
CommentAuthorMrs Stocks 2B
were having chicken as you dont have people complaining about the beef being under or ofer cooked x
CommentAuthorJoanna
Chicken is usually a safe option, but i know a few people who don't eat chicken and i can't think of anyone i know who doesn't like beef (apart from veggie's lol) so i'd go with beef. It depends on your guests, do you know anyone who won't eat certain things? If it were me, i'd just have whatever me and h2b liked the most xxx

if i had to choose i would say chicken xx
CommentAuthorkrissy905
i love both but we have picked beef i know this is a safe option for my family and have spoken to h2bs parents, brothers and grand parents and they are all happy with beef to anyone else i don't personally know so i don't care to much you can't please everyone so I'm going with the majority vote. I'm also doing the same option for kids we was told they would do chips and kids friendly food instead but my girls love roast beef diners and as its 3 course kids wont starve if they don't eat it all.
CommentAuthorOfficially Mrs M
we are going roast beef and its served pink those who don't like it will eat around it which is fine by me
if i had a choice i would go beef everytime as i find chicken to be the boring option but it is the safe option don't get me wrong

CommentAuthorroberta90
chicken is the easier option which nearly everyone likes hun but personally I LOVE BEEF ! lol x
CommentAuthorOWB
I won't eat chicken, admittedly it's for 'hippie reasons' as my other half says, but unless the caterer could guarantee it was free range then I won't go near it. Beef for me, I know most of my wedding party would prefer beef.
If only life could be one long tea break
CommentAuthorlinzipple
I LOVE beef, but it's so easy to get wrong and it can be very chewy. Could you go for a trial and see what it's like? Chicken would be the safer option just in case
CommentAuthorlows
chicken or beef? well it depends on how they are cooked and served, are they both just roast dinners? as if so I would go for the beef but if its something more fancy and with lots of flavours etc such as stuffed chicken wrapped in something or beef wellington then the choice is harder to make. I would always go for the beef option but its down to personal choice, are you both veggie? if not just pick what you want to eat and forget about everyone else. x

Why don't you go for a carvery? Go for this option, and they have to give you a choice. That's what we're doing, and so far it's gone down well:-)

i personally would rather have beef but chicken is definitely the safer option. We had chicken for our wedding the other week and every single person finished it :o) xxx
CommentAuthorEMC
Chicken will please more guests generally. It's the safe option, and less easy to mess up.
CommentAuthorDonda
I think you should have a word with the close members of your wedding party and ask what they would prefer, take a note of what each would like then make a decision based on the majority choice and apologise to those who were in the minority LOL x

I really love beef but most people like theirs done differently and not all people eat red meat so we are going for chicken for ours. its much more of a generic option that will please the most amount of people and will probably be a bit cheaper on the pennies too. xx
CommentAuthorRockabilly chick
I voted chicken, its my favourite when its cooked nicely :-) We are having chicken breast stuffed with haggis for our big day :-)

i voted chicken as like most people have said its a lot easier - if i had beef and was not cooked all the way thourgh then i doubt i would eat any of the food on the plate as the beef would have put me off. This is just my opinion though hun , i can be quite picky when it comes to food lol xx

CommentAuthorMrsShaw
I'd go with chicken. We are having it as our wedding breakfast meal too :) I'm very picky when it comes to beef. It has to be cooked properly through. No blood or pink.
With beef, everyone likes it differently cooked, whereas chicken you only get the one fully cooked version so to speak.
So whilst more people may prefer beef, will more people prefer the beef being cooked a certain way, than the people who would prefer chicken?
Say 60 people prefer beef and 40 prefer chicken. That would mean you go with beef. But what is 30 of those people like their beef cooked thoroughly and 30 like it with blood in? Then you actually have a majority of 40 who would be happy with chicken rather than 30 with the beef.

Chicken for me defo - you cant really get that wrong....aslong as its cooked, there are too many personal preferences with how ppl like their beef cooked and its difficult to please alot of ppl when its a big function x
CommentAuthormadhen
I voted chicken as being a more all-rounder, but I would prefer beef if nicely cooked! We were at two weddings last month within a week of each other. One served roast beef with all the trimmings. The other roast stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon. The beef was dry and the rest of the main course didn't make up for it, which was a shame as starter and dessert were yum. The chicken was beautiful and there wasn't an un-cleared plate in the house!
CommentAuthorTsukijin
I'd go for beef because it doesn't matter if it's undercooked, but I like the taste of chicken more lol
