    Here is my dilema......
Without going into too much detail. I don't speak to my dad haven't in about 10+ years and even though my sisters say I should invite him and his new wife and her son as they still speak to him, I really never had the intention of inviting him or most of that side of my family. Now my H2B hasnt seen his dad since he was 17 and doesnt want him at the wedding so I fully understand where he is coming from as I am in the same boat.
However he also doesnt want his brother there either now this I dont understand as he was always close to his brother until he went to uni and they stopped speaking.
Should I invite him to the engagment party and the wedding he is his brother after all or would this cause too many problems.

I'm in the same position with my dad, he won't be getting an invite to the wedding just because he provided the necessary tools to help my mum to conceive. As you h2b's brother, it's his choice and even if he is just being stubborn that you have to let him get on with it. A lot could change in 2 years, so don't make any hasty decisions yet.

Ahhh hon he may well be being stubborn for the sake of it, but at the end of the day if it's his family then that's his prerogative. I would go along with what he wants for now, and as OWB says a lot could change in 2 years ;-) x

i agree with everyone else he still as plenty of time to change his mind but it has to be his choice and whne he wants to do it i would leave it for now and see what happens in the future x

you should each have the final say over guests from your side of the family. If you don't want your dad that then don't, if your sister wants to have a get together with him and his new family then let them do it another day. as redards h2b's brother. He should have the final say on tis one. You've got a bit of time yet to see what happens so try nt to worry about it x

I agree to leave your OH there is time for him to change his mind but don't do anything without consulting him first as you don't want any arguments :)

I agree... it's your wedding, not your sister's so you only invite your dad if you want to.

And as for H2B... you suggested asking his brother to your engagement party but you should keep him out of everything wedding related for now and maybe suggest they meet up separately to try sort things out?
