Hi ladies, i know i still have a while to go but i just cant decide on a colour scheme! i thought i wanted cadbury purple but a few people i know are having it this year and next so i changed my mind to coral but i cant find any bridesmaid dresses i like ( and that will fit 2 of my bridesmaids), i like jade green and aqua but i just dont know! how did you ladies decide on a colour? xx

How about looking for BM dresses first and basing the colour on that? H2B chose our colour, neon pink! I would have liked sage green.

I wanted fuschia at first but h2b would'nt were a tie in fuschia to co-ordinate with the bm's so we changed to purple cos he did'nt mind wearing that lol
CommentAuthorkirstyless
I had like a lighter shade of purple. I'll post a bridesmaid designer website on your wall. Its where I got my dresses from and they do loads of different shades!

Hi, I just knew as soon as I saw my colours, I would look at everything around but always come back to Rose Pink and ivory, i am thinking of having my dress in rose pink and my little flower girls in ivory. I think Aqua will look lovely, I actually have my nails painted in that colour right now hee hee. Why dont you mix and have Coral and aqua, that would look lovely together, lovely and bright :-) hope you manage to decide on something soon xx

Ooo I'm going through the same dilemma. At first I wanted salmon pink/coral but I agree it's very hard to find - usually they're too bright pink/brash but peach is too wishy washy. Pistachio is my other option. Dig through your wardrobe and find a bunch of different coloured clothing and decide what suits you best - at the end of the day everything is there to compliment you! :-)

I couldn't decide either and ended up with light blue as I found BM dresses on the bay that I liked really cheap and everything then centred around those! I have light blue and ivory with little bits of pale yellow in flowers. x

Choosing my colour scheme was so easy and H2B didn't mind at all.
I'm Chinese so like my sister at her wedding have gone for the traditional and lucky red and light gold.
I think a good way of deciding if you're struggling and don't really mind what colours you have is to choose the BM's dresses and allow that to dictate the colour scheme, much easier that way. They'll end up being a colour that suits them and also what you like xxx

Thanks ladies and big thankyou to Mrs Emison2b and lilmisschuckles for the images, i really like coral so am now considering looking for some material to have the bridesmaid dresses made and having accents of gold, my dress will be ivory, one of the problems i have is that 1 of my bridesmaid is plus sized so its trying to get a dress to fit her!!! ARGH lol xx

I'm going for Black and white. Found a lovely dress for me with a little touch of black on it. My maid of honour and bridesmaid will be in black with beautiful silver sequins on their dresses and silver shoes. My cake will be white dec with a touch of black such as ribbon and edible pearls.

Hi Hun,
My original colour theme was black white and silver, but I found it difficult to find BM dress I like also the groom didn't want to wear a black suit. I eventually chose Purple/Violet and grey/silver.

I asked my partner what he liked! We're not going for a typical colour scheme but rather earthy colours like foresty green, brown, deep purple and then some brighter colours, red, orange and yellow, which will work for our barn/fete style wedding idea. Hopefully going to have the bridesmaids in 'hunter' green dresses though so they stand out as the bridal party.

I know this might sound weird but I'm going for just white and silver with a tiny accent (purple). I couldn't find a colour that I loved enough to have everywhere. Though the bridesmaids will be in my accent. Apparently all white weddings are going to be all the rage (according to my potential venue dresser). Have you thought about just ivory too? x

we wanted coral as our colour but we couldnt find any bridesmaids dresses we liked. Basically we didn't know what colour we wanted and just looked around for dresses until we found something we loved and boom, colour chosen :o) It has however changed slightly as we've gone from aqua to aqua and cerise but its still lush xxx
