I am sorting out the final arrangements for the table plan and I'm not sure what to do with the top table. The venue suggest what I guess is the traditional format:

    Best Man---Cheif Bridesmaid---Grooms Father---Brides Mother---Groom---Bride---Brides Father---Grooms Mother---Bmaid--Bmaid

However, we think it would be nice for our parents to be able to sit together, both sets of parents get on well but we just feel it might be nice for them to sit with their actual husband/wife? If we do this how do we sit the parents? I presume my dad needs to be sat next to me then my mum next to him. On the other side who sits next to h2b? Is it his mum or dad?

When we do ours it will be my dad next to me with my mum next to him and h2b's dad next to h2b with his mum next to his dad :) We arent having the bridesmaids or best man at the top table either, they will be at a seperate table so that they can sit with their partners :) xxx

I am doing simialr to Kelly but swapping h2b's parents round:

    best man - h2b's dad - h2b's mam - h2b - me - my dad - my mam - moh

I think best man would be better sat next to h2b's dad than mum! Think they'd have more to chat about.

There isn't a set order you need to follow, just do it however you and h2b want it :) I'm going to a friend's wedding this summer where neither set of parents are on the top table xxx
