What sort of thing are you after babe? Have you got a theme?

Yeah it depends on your theme, i have roses on my dress and so do the girls so i was going for a silver flower with crystal bud, they sound and look expensive but the more you buy the cheaper they are. or combine it with a hobby do you like baking? what about making everyone a cup cake and writing either their name or just initial on it in icing, i love personal touches xx

If you look on the cancer research website you will find a section called 'give in celebration'... they come on a little place card and tells the recipient you have made a donation on their behalf. I think the suggested donation is £1.00 per badge. :) xx

They all sound great.. :)

I am having little seed bags as the venue has alot of lovely gardens and H2B is a landscape gardener. They are just scatter seeds the people can take home and through in the garden. They will be a selection of wild flowers that attract butterflys.

Im having cancer research donations as my favours too and am attaching them to large red retro lollipops to match my colour scheme. Have got a few children coming too so am going to do party bags for them to keep them occupied, did this for my brothers wedding in december for the kids and they went down a treat.

Pinkberry - My h2b cousin gave out seedlings at her wedding a few years ago and they made a lovely touch to her day and the guests really liked them

i don't mean to offend anyone but i just think favours are a waste of time and money. i think the charity ones are a nice touch but you could just give the money you would of spent on favours to charity instead. i won't be having favours and i doubt any of my guests will care, that's not why they are coming
CommentAuthorDrunchPunk
I know what you mean bobbysgirl, but to be fair, that's true of everything when it comes to weddings, including the dress, flowers, bridesmaids! None of it is exactly 'necessary' for a wedding to take place :) But it's nice to have that stuff!

what kind of things are u putting inside your favour boxes?
CommentAuthorDaffy
nicpep - what kind of name tags are you having? We thought about doing this rather than having table place names... x

I actually agree with them being a waste of money BUT to me it's as much a small token gesture to thank my guests for coming - a LOT of them are out of town and international and I think it's just good manners. Because I'm such a whizz in the kitchen (nowt like blowing your own trumpet lol) I'm making strawberry shortbread hearts, wrapping them in cellophane and attaching a name tag to them, we're then handing them out personally to each guest. LOVE the goody bags for kids idea........that one is definitely on my list now :)
It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

i understand it's polite if they have to travel but after i've paid for a 3 course meal and welcome drinks i think that's polite enough!!!! i'm such a bloke about things like this.

My favours are also as a thank you for the donations we are asking for 2 charities close to our hearts, instead of having a wedding list.
Ajwilki, do you mean card shaped as long ties for your favours? if so you could make your own as Ive had a look round a few craft places online and also ebay to no avail. But if you mean bow ties, small pink stick on bows would do and can be bought from ebay or any craft site online or craft shop. For making your own all you need is a template made from hard card easily done if you have a picture of what you want or are good at drawing and trace this onto the card, cut out and then use template to make them with fushia coloured card. x
