Wedding Forum - Did it!!! (pics on profile)...

Well firstly i must say i never thought i would actually get to post here. It seemed so long to go and then i kept imagining that something would go wrong! How wrong i was, we got back from our honeymoon yesterday, we have been married 8 days ad 21 hours and everything is amazing!!

On the day i was calm and relaxed. Had a little weep to myself in the bath before anyone was awake as i wished my mum was with me.... then pulled myself together.
Had breakfast and made a start getting ready. Me and my 2 adult bridesmaids started early and worked gradually on getting ourselves ready, this meant there was no stress or rush. When my bridemaster arrived at 12:45 he was shocked at how calm we all were.
Come 1pm and the trike was outside, my dad was in the hotel lobby and i was ready to go. The photographer took some shots while we were waiting for mil to arrive with my other 2 bridesmaids. They were late as she got lost, that was the point when i got stressed. My bridesmaster bought me a vodka and i sat in the sun trying to stay calm.

The ride on the trike to the venue was amazing! Loads of people stopping to look and beeping their horns etc... then outside the venue all the guests were waiting to see us arrive.
The ceremony and blessing went without a hitch. Dad managed his reading without crying though we could hear in his voice it was a struggle and he made quite a few others cry. My son and daughter did their readings, i was soooo proud of them both!!
Riding on the trike to the reception venue was awesome, we were followed by ryans bike club so there was a convoy, i have a film of it and a friend compared it to a scene from sons of anarchy :D
Ryan stood to do his speech and started crying, dad made me weep a little bit when he spoke about my mum but all in all it was fantastic. Everyone commented on how much food there was and how they were so impressed by the variety. The sweet buffet went down a treat, it was lovely to see everyone of all different ages enjoying the pick and mix, even relatives in their 80s!
The hog roast and chocolate fountain were much enjoyed by everyone. The chocolate fountain guys took pics as people enjoyed it so we have a gallery of those pics as well, this was brilliant as there were people who only came to the evening doo who we probably wouldnt have had a photo of otherwise.
I was nervous at the first dance, and ryan didnt put my dads dance on to a disc for the dj so we didnt do it, but in hindsight thats possibly a good thing as dad was struggling to hold himself together all day.

The honeymoon was amazing. I cant recommend the reserve enough. It was sooooo peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub every night, visited lake windermere, i got emotional at the site where mums ashes were scattered at ableside, that was to be expected though. We went to beatrix potter land which i loved!! We saw whitehaven and the rum story which was good, and did some shopping in carlisle. The reserve its self was fantastic. We went out on the lake in our row boat a couple of times, most amazing bit of that was when ryan was rowing and a duck jumped up and sat beside me! The ducks came to our decking for feeding every morning as we enjoyed breakfast out there over looking the lake. On our last evening we enjoyed a walk round the lake at dusk, we watched the bats and even saw an owl, sadly the otter didnt come out to us though.
One evening while sitting in the hot tub looking up at the sky we even saw a shooting star!!!

We crossed country for the weekend and stayed in scarborough, did a ghost walk in whitby and visited york. All in all an absolutely brilliant time! Got home about 9pm last night.
Now we are heading off into town to open a joint bank account and change my name. I wanted to come on here to tell you all about everything and thank you all for everything over the past 18 months!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful wedding and honeymoon.......and who was it in your family said there was nothing to do and no-where to go...? sounds like a great place to me. I would love beatrix potter land.
I know what you mean about your mum, and I am sorry you felt so sad on the day....I will feel the same, as neither of my parents will be there. But in true woman style we just have to pick ourselves up and carry on dont we...
