    Hi Everyone

I need some inspiration on what canapes & finger food to serve? I will be honest, I don't actually know what canapes are, but want to serve food before and after the ceremony, that you don't require a plate for. All answers appreciated :)

We're I work we do catering for allot of weddings so i'll give you some ideas of the most popular canapes we do.

Cocktail sausage cut down the middle with mustard mash in (mine sausage and mash)
Mini yorkshire puddings with beef and horse raddish
    King prawns with mayo dip
    smoked salmon sandwiches,
    Blinis with cream cheese,
mini goats cheese and red onion tarts
mini tomato basil and mozzerella kebabs,
melon cubes wrapped in parma ham,

Just a few ideas, these are the ones that go down really well :)

I cant remember what we picked now. I think there were duck baskets with hoi sin sauce, mini pizzas (minus the fancy rubbish they put on top) and sometype of thai chicken... I think! You have me thinking now.

Peking dusk baskets, cucumber and hoi sin sauce
Red chilli and lemon grass chicken, lemon mayo on side if possible or dont include it.
mozzarella and tomato pizza but without the drizzled ginger.

This is what we are asking for but they have changed their menu. they did say they would honor this so they better had as we dont like any of the new ones.

The venue we are having the ceremony doesn'y provide any drinks or food etc and we have hired 3 members of staff to heat some canapes, but will have to hire a chef if the stuff needs cooking. I like the idea of mini toad in the hole, posh sandwichs, mini mozzarella pizza, king prawns, mini quiche and sausage & mash.

I've just googled blinis, because I had never heard of them but I think they would be ideal

I will have to go to M&S or Sainsbury's and have a look on the packaging to see if they can be re-heated?

They're like mini pancakes suz, with some kind of something on top - ours had like a salmon mousse/paste on top but you can have almost anything with them x
