I'm have a rather big family and we're getting married in a church which is 20 minutes away from where we're having the reception... well my dad thinks we should pay and put on a coach/mini bus depending on people from church to the venue... but when i spoke to HTB he said we shouldn't have to and if people wanna come to our wedding they will make the effort and make there own way there as money is tight for us. What do you guys think the right thing to do is?

Hey Gaby, I am going to have the same problem no doubt! However we will put on a coach because some of our guests are elderly and cant drive and some wont be able to enjoy themselves always watching what they drink because they have to drive. Does your reception venue have lots of parking? Or will it be hard for guests to park near to it? xxx

no theres plenty of parking so thats not a problem and its a hotel so if anyone wants to pay to stay they can and theres premier inn nearby so its cheap. The bonus for me is i only have 2 elderly people going and i'm sure they can scrounge a lift. Its just its an extra 200 pound or more to do it and its a lot out of our budget but then i don't wanna have a wedding where everyones moaning. x

i'm in the same situation i have a large family and there is a few who dont drive and my venue is 30-40 mins drive i am planning on puttin on a bus so the daytime guests then evening guests can attend and dont av to worry about taxi's or driving and not been able to drink, i am charging them for the bus tho as it would cost them a fortune for a taxi where as if they all pay towards a bus it wont cost as much as individual taxis..... what you could put on the invites is that there is a possibility of a bus at Xamount pp which would save them having to arrange there own transport and also means they can drink, i would get prices for buses before you decide what you are goin to charge and also if you's are goin to put anythin towards it aswell. x x

Yerh but the church is in are area where we live so they can all walk it if need be.

Thats a great idea Starbabe to give them that option I'm sure if its gonna be cheaper then a cab for them then they might go for that... i will look into it thanks x
