I was in a charity shop earlier and REALLY loved the bunting they had hanging up. It looked kind of retro kitschy looking. So being a really nosey person i had to get a closer look at it and am now stealing thier idea!
They had got some ribbon, and attached triangles made from wrapping paper! They had used those scissors that give a crimpled zig zag edge. It looked really effective, and from even standing next to it i couldnt tell it was wrapping paper until I felt it!
So, we are deffo going to use this idea for ours, you can get rolls of ribbon dirt cheap off the bay of e, so easy cheap and best of all you can put it in the recycle bin after you finish with it!

I really want bunting too, to put round the top table and the cake table. Am going to have a rummage through my mums material scraps to see if she has any suitable patterns to make bunting out of! You can also buy on the bay quite cheap as well, if you not feeling crafty!

Honestly this one you couldnt tell it wasnt material to look at it. We're on such a tight budget, and wrapping paper is obviously cheaper than material. I would love personalised bunting or something, but this is going to be easy. We want it all round the walls. We are going for a retro look anyway if we can pull it off.
I LOVE bunting. i'm a big softy really lol

Bunting is amazing! I got the idea for paper bunting from another thread, were having vintage map and old music sheet bunting as were also having a vintage theme and it will also represent the both of us :-) xx
I have been looking at bunting too But never thought of using paper. I am already being Cheekey and getting samples of the velvet type wallpapers from b&q for my invites, maybe you could do this for your bunting too?? I know It's cheekey but they are free samples after all ;)

ooh hadnt thought of wallpaper samples lol.
Love the vintage ideaas too!
I Love the paper idea, as we can get everyone involved in making it, even the kids! IT'll mean so much more to us to think it has been made by people in our family and friends circle
