Really have had enough now and we are still so far away from the wedding!

We have stayed in literally since October!!!
I am well and truly fed up.
We only have Fri & Sat evenings together (H2B works sun to thurs 3pm-11pm I work 9-2.30) and rarely see much of each other in the week.

Staying in has been ok up until now, film nights, munchies, duvet on the sofa etc but we are both geting fed up with having no money, not going anywhere. Even feel guilty to have a takeaway as it could of gone to the wedding pot!

Im not sure how we will get through the next 17 months like this!
Especially with a 6yr old and a 4yr old........we need some time for just US!

I know the feeling :/ Ive been working out money each month but still havent managed to start saving yet! Once we book the wedding and holiday it wont be so bad as know we wont have any choice but to pay every bit of spare money we have on our holiday/wedding.

Have you worked out your budget and what sort of wedding you want? Are you going to be doing anything yourself? invites/flowers etc?

If you shop around there are lots of ways you can save money and still have the wedding you want WITHOUT having to give up on your social life with h2b hun xx

    Planning to perfection <3

Is your 4 year old at school? Why don't you both book a day off work then go and do something fun but cheap/free? Go for a walk then have hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows.

Huni this happens to everyone. We go out once a month to the local pub they do meals for 2 for £7 and then we have one or two drinks then go to the local shop and buy me a bottle of wine and him a few cans and watch tv together or an early night. But yes it gets boring staying it. We went out for a friends birthday last week and spent £70 but we worked extra shifts to do it. I must say yes we could have used that to do so must for the wedding but we needed a night out. Go out once a month trust me it wont kill the budget and it will keep you both from going mad

think alot of people are the same hun :( we stay in all the time anyway due to never being able to get a sitter for our lads but the odd takeaway wont make that much of a dent!
If you're on a really tight budget (i didnt even have a budget, its just pay as u go lol) just get online and start bargain hunting....that way you can figure out how much you need and then wont feel bad if you have a takeaway, a go out for a bit
    xx

Aww hun, can you not build in £15 every couple of weeks for a ew drinks or a meal in a local pub (2 or 1 or somthing). It wont kill the budget and there is no point at all driving yourself crazy xxx

We are in the same boat too and I am considering doing agency shifts at the hospital on my days off just to get some extra cash for the wedding and to pay bills. We do though, go out for a meal once a month to the chain of spoons pubs (food is ok and drinks are cheap) and have a night for ourselves - WE DON'T WANT TO START REGRETTING THE WEDDING!! And as I said to H2b last night, by buying little things here and there, hopefully come this time next year most things will have been bought or paid off that we can start to treat ourselves a bit more. I get fed up too, but know it will be worth it in the end xx

I was considering asking for more nights. Till I saw how much extra I get paid and decided its not really worth it for how crap I feel and how long it takes me to recover.

Can you not go for a 2 for 1 meal once a month on a fri night, me and my H2B try go out one night a month just us to spend quality time together. It is tough but just think what its all for in the end. You will be able to do whatever you like after the wedding X

Thank you for all the comments and suggestions.
I turned off after posting this and we watched some things we had on planner.
Feeling ok today, Dad took the kids swimming this morning so we had a bit of time to ourselves.
We whacked up the music and blitzed the house!
Not exactly the best way to spend our time but it needed doing, we had a laugh dancing around like loons and much needed time just us!

We are doing ok with budget and cutting costs. Got lots booked and sorted already.
Just feels like ages to go, i suppose as we have done quite a lot already and the other bits cant now be done until next year really.

Thanks again for all your suggestions, will def take them on board
