Hey all - just wondering if any of you ladies's H2B's have been in a similar situation and what have you done about it? Basically Steve picked one of his best mates that he has known for umpteen number of years, went school, college etc etc and thought he was the immediate choice to be best man. Now it's getting closer to the time he hasnt contacted H2B much and his ushers are more keen organising bits and bobs... Best man was meant to be organising 2nd stag do as H2B organised his first golf weekend with family and golfing buddies so was hoping best man would sort the 'boozy' one but he hasnt done anything. Think H2B is a bit fed up as was hoping best man would be more involved in his role. We understand everyone's busy etc, just a lil effort would be nice. Steve is now considering his options - to go for 2 best men, choose someone else as a best man and let best man be usher or....? H2B really doesnt want to hurt anyones feelings but he's getting down about it all. Any ideas/similar situations? xx

Yes my h2b chose his best man (an old friend he's known for years) but who now lives in Scotland, so they are only in contact via Facebook. He was thrilled about it initially but as the wedding draws nearer he is not responding to h2b's messages, so he looks like a no show but just as a double whammy he's a professional photographer and immediately said I'll do your piccies(we did'nt ask him he offered) so we now have no best man plus the extra exspence of finding a decent photographer. There's now't as queer as folk, so the saying goes.

Ahh thats a right pain - yeah same with ours, he was over the moon and excited at first but I guess now the novelty has worn off its a different story... Guess we'll see what he does (or doesnt do) over the next few months xx

same situation I am fed up with it now, as not in touch since December, not organising stag do or whatever hasn't rsvp yet so I think I am gonna put my foot down and call him myself to make him understand what his role means
Soon to be Mrs Gary Doublé
Everything is now booked
Getting really stressed and excited now

My husband chose his cousin as best man. He was excited when we asked him too, then he didn't really get involved until nearer the time, like 4 weeks before we got married! I eventually got in touch and told him to get his backside in gear, as hubby isn't great at nagging , I am! all came good in the end, he looked great on the day, did all his duties and a funny speech. I think men in general think 6 months is an age, and why are you getting stressed? they don't understand the million other things you have to organise for the big day, and you haven't got time to worry about weather they will be there or let you down. Xbox Widow ~ I would seriously get in touch with your best man, as he has offered to do your pictures as well!!! you don't have much time to book someone else .... hope it works out for you all x
I would want someone who really WANTS to be best man,a and who is enthusiastic about it. I wouldnt want anyone there who couldnt be bothered putting in some efort
Remember : To the world you may be just one person,
BUT to one person you may just be THE WORLD x x x
