    Hiya,
I was thinking the other day about how much time and effort us laies go through to look perfect for our partners. The beauty regimes, the fitness. And i thought, what do the guys do for us?! Just turn up?! lol. Not much really is it.
I know me being me, i'll want things to be perfect for my day, so will start my exfoliating, face packs etc in a few months, making sure my skin is spot free and moisturized for the day. Teeth whitener and also my hair make up and nails will be perfected.
My h2b is a mechanic so you can imagine what his hands are like...dry, cracked, and oily. No matter how many times he washes and scrubs them, they never come clean, not fully clean anyways.
I was wondering whether there was a place that specialised in Men's hands, manicure, industrial cleaning of the hands, and moiturizing them.... Im sure I saw this on a DTTB, but dont even know where to begin. What would it be called, and what person would do this?!
Im thinking of getting this as a pre wedding gift for my h2b.
    Any ideas?

A man can go into alot of beauty salons and have most things, where I live one beauty salon is usually serving several men at any one time for things like tanning, waxing, hand and foot treatments, eyebrow shaping ect.

Personally my partner works outside with concrete ect and his hands get very dry and dirty but he likes to use cream from lush " because it has a man on the pot and that means it's for men too"

Tilly... i didnt nessersarily mean for my hubby2b to get his nails done either. Hes a mans man and would laugh in my face if i told him to go to the salon to have his nails done lol.
Advantage is my mum is a beautician, so she might even do this... I really dont want his oil stained hands in my wedding pictures though.

My h2b has better hands than me but he does suffer from dry skin or blotchy skin on his face despite also having a much better beauty regime than me lol.

He has booked in for a Hot Towel Wet Shave, a hand and nail tidy and a 25 minute Swedish Massage on the morning of the wedding ...tart that he is!

Working on a 3 dream plan for the next 5 years!
    Dream 1 = My gorgeous Mr P proposed - 4/9/11 Sydney Harbour
Dream 2 = Getting Married Easter 2012 by Bonnie Loch Lomond
Dream 3 = Working on that dream life in Australia

I'm a beauty therapist and my h2b has awful hands!! I have got him using hand cream but he bites the skin around the edge of his nails, it drives me mad. I've already told him that he's having several manicure in the run up to the wedding. He hates having his hands done, yet he loves pedicures, and lets me paint his toe nails all kinds of funky colours. He'll also be getting a facial or two.

When my friend got married last year she booked me to do a manicure, facial and eyebrow threading, the best man asked for the same, and two of the ushers turned up to have their eyebrows done too. There are male salons now that specialise in creating a masculine environment for the treatments.

My h2b always has really grubby hands, he works in a warehouse and gets really dirty. Thing is he really hates having dirty hands so he bought a tub of swarfega (i think thats what its called anyway) it really gets the dirt out, especially if used regularly. and I've got him using hand cream, though we're had to try a few as he seems to be allergic to most of them! I'll be making sure he has his hair done, though i doubt he'll have a proper shave on the day, most likely just a nice trim of the beard to make it neat. if he has a shave its back within an hour anyway so thats pretty pointless!

we ended up settling on one of the hand creams I make for myself at home with a bit of variation, my hand creams have quite a girly scent so we changed it to something more manly for h2b!

I am a beauty/complimaentary therapist and paraffin wax is amazing for dry/hard/carcked skin - if he doesnt wan to have the full manicure he could just have the exfoliation to remove the top layer of rough skin and then have the paraffin wax heat treatment left on for 10/15 minutes, wrapped in hot towls for extra heat, this will remove extra hard skin and nourish the skin too leaving it extrememly soft, do this every week for say 4-6 weeks before the wedding depending on how bad they are and they'll be lush.

Most high street salons should do this, i'm sure if you explain he doesnt want the full manicure (nail filing/buffing etc) they'll be fine about it and wont charge you the full price.

Nutrogena also do a hand cream tha is VERY good, its called Nutrogena Norwegian Hand cream, its only a little tube, but you only need a tiny bit and it last ages its very thick and greasy but its very good, my dad swears by iy and his hands are terrible, he is always working outdoors and his hands are terribly dty and cracked from the cold weather

hope this has been of some help

I know my H2B is planning on going for a proper wet shave at a barbers near us for the big day. And I know he's planning on losing a bit of weight, he wants to look good for his big day too, as i'm sure many men do.
