Hi, we were advised to make our own cones since we want vintage and to put them in an old style basket. I have had a look for the preserved rose petals, white, but dont know how much to use as it says 2litres only does 8-10 cones and thats still 20 quid. Not impressed with that! They only need a small handful. I got that price from bay of e
1. How much will I need for 25-30 women (not providing for men) 2. Can anyone find a really cheap price? 3. If guests bring their own, do you think they would prefer to use the preserved roses we provide in the cones?
Thanks.

I like the coloured dried ones but the white dried ones can be a bit boring compared to the rest. What colour were yours and where did you get them from? Glad you took theirs, glad the guests will be happy then :)

I thought if they went to the effort it would be rude not to take it
We luckily inherited a very pretty pink/red rose - its not exactly our colour scheme but they will be thrown outside, it produced soo many petals we have too much
You can dry things other than roses, sweet peas dry well so do hydrangeas - a mix of petals may look better if all white

Each litre of confetti should do approx 10 handfuls. It depends how big your cones are to how much you need to fill them properly. I know a good website that do all natural confetti in lots of different colour and flower combinations. I can send you the link if you would like?
CommentAuthormadhen
Have any of you been told by the venue/church that you can't throw confetti? I don't have personal experience of this but have heard...
CommentAuthorNicsquared
I can only have natural/biodegradable confetti but thats fine for me - i came across a few that had a complete ban though - then you have to be more creative eg have bubbles or something else

Also everything is white other than BM dresses and cravats on groomsmen. Should I keep to white or will I get away with the red as the dried red looks better than the white hence having to resort to full preserved white petals to make it look more elegant at the mo

I think coloured confetti would look good as it will stand out for photos where as white might get a bit lost - im not matching mine What colour are the BMs?

red.
we are also setting off confetti canons (free with photo package) which i think are multicoloured. This I am nervous about but hey ho. They are being set off for stage though so wont be spontanous unlike the guest confetti

Very nice dresses - i would definitely be tempted to go with red then, esp as you will save money too Its only going to be used for a few secs so probably not worth spending the extra on

ok, I do prefer the red. I am just conscious that everything is white but I understand what you mean about them not standing out. Only other concern is dye coming off them onto my dress though. Oh I dont know lol x

I've spent a ruddy fortune on natural confetti! Our theme is black and white but were having multi-coloured confetti. I've got a mixture of rose petals and delphiniums from a few different companies, so have a look around the web for the best price.
Also, re: staining - I found this on one website;
"Our freeze dried confetti will not stain, even when wet, essential for dresses, table cloths and wooden floors. so you can buy with confidence. Our air dried confetti should only be used where there is no chance of it getting wet as it can leak some of the natural colour of the flower."
Hope it helps x

mine started as petals from flowers i had for my birthday last year ... but you could also buy those flowers that have been reduced in shops ....i dried them in 2 ways ...
in the oven and also just laid out on a tray and left to dry on their own , both way worked really well
I want the freeze dried rose petals for the tables. We are going for pink, lilac and ivory. We aren't allowed confetti at our venue.

ok so freeze dried is the way to go then. I just think they seem to charge a lot. I emailed my flower company who said that they sell them only as cones themselves at a fiver a go... they can get stuffed for that haha! Ok I may be tactful then. If some of you have freeze dried your own, I will keep buying flowers for the house and then after a few days pick the petals off and freeze them? Is that right or am I being very niave haha! Can you tell I am not a flower girl and have no clue what I am doing.

right, was looking at natural but was advised these will stick, freeze dried are pretty but pricy. Air dried are cheaper I think but less pretty. I need something that wont stain as mum thinks red is best despite wedding being white as white wont show up on pics so agrees with some of you on here. Which type do I need tho x

I have put a link on your wall for the company im getting my confetti from. have a look amd order some samples to get a good idea of what its actually like. xx
CommentAuthorsuzky123
thanks hun. We saw them at a wedding fayre the other day and I forgot I had a sample off them. I have emailed them for their best price and to see how many litres I will need. I have come down to my air dried petals I am doing myself and I must be doing something wrong because at the mo they look pretty naff. If I can get freeze dried for under 30 for the right amount I think I will go ahead.
