I like this American tradition, and thought it would be a nice surprise present for H2B, as I am a good cook/baker, I was thinking of making him a Groom cake, while he's staying with his Best Man, and have it put next to our ordered cake. He is a computer geek, gamer, so I think something like a laptop, or the penguin representing Linux would be a good choice. Do you think it is a good idea?

I discovered it through cake boss, my new favourite show, and it would be dead simple to make, I am not doing it to impress people, but if I was to make it he would be so surprised and happy.

Any excuse for more cake is good for me We are having one - but more because i want a silly cake to go with everything formal. Im sure your h2b will be impressed

awww i think this is a lovely idea! and i think H2B would be very proud and charmed by this! alot of H2B's seem to get left out (or just leave it to us) and would be a nice gift without being too pansyish (not as bad as i mean sorry, i couldn't think of a better word!)

i am having a grooms cake made for my hubby to be..... a man city style cake (the cake being like a football pitch which all his fav players figures (well cake topper tyle)_ on it, and also a figure cake topper of personalised one of my hubby to be)

we're doing this! h2b has a huge chocolate chip cake with chocolate frosting, and mine will be a more traditional 3 tier with white icing and flowers :)

i love the idea of a grooms cake and would have one for my h2b but as we are having a 4 tier cake with max of about 80 guests going to end up with loads of cake as it is with out needing any more lol
