Looking at venues and everything is coming out at between £8000 and £9000. I have a budget of about £12000, do you think I can do it? Most of the venues include a dinner, buffet, ceremony (though not the registrar) and some decorations, wine, champagne etc. And most offer the bridal suite too. However from looking on here people seem to be spending way less on their venues, is this because of where we are? (Hertfordshire). Does anyone know of any nice venues in Herts, Essex, London, or anywhere within about an hour and a half of St ALbans that are more reasonable, Im thinking about £6000-£7000? I love old tudor type venues or barn style venues, and we would really like everything on the same site, including the ceremony, reception and accommodation.
Thanks ladies!!

It's really difficult to find a reasonably priced venues... especially as barely any of the venues put prices on website... and you can never get through to them when you call! We're struggling with venues atm aswell, we booked on sunday but since then lots of hidden charges have cropped up, so we're looking at a few more venues over the next few days to compare! ARGHHHHH! Stress overload! lol

We went for a winter package - we booked the last date in the months and managed to get it half price (4k)- the only other option is a weekday wedding - thats usually cheaper. There are not that many cheap places in essex. my package is with Stockbrook Manor. x x x

I have done my wedding at the Restaurant Le Gothique in London Wandsworth SW18, they do not do accomodation but they are located in a wonderfull building and they are registered for wedding. They have a French chef that do great cooking. You might look at my pics or at their website. They restaurant owner also have a 1957 RR that you can hire (he do the driving).

I'm getting married at Maidens Barn, High Easter (nr Stansted) and it will be around £6000 for the venue (that's ceremony and reception), 3 course meal for 50ish people, and buffet for up to 200 people. Oh and drinks (reception drinks and wine with the meal). There isn't accomodation on site but there's plenty of places near by.
