Both Graeme and I are scared of flying so we have decided we don't want a ridiculously long flight to contend with when going away but we want to go somewhere that is hot, beside the sea and not ridiculously expensive when we get there
All ideas welcome - live beside Aberdeen but would travel to Edinburgh/Glasgow

Dont know about being that cheap but we love Menorca. xx Its lovely we are going on holiday again there in August x

Somewhere in Spain seems ideal. Not too far to fly, loads of lovely beaches and not too expensive! If you're willing to spend a little more, then the south of France or Portugal too. xx

We were thinking about somewhere like Menorca or Portugal - don't think it would be too bad priced when you get there x

Neither of them should be too expensive, and you should be able to get good deals on the flights/hotel too :)

Canaries can be quite nice, and there are some lovely parts of spain, I'd opt to go to one of the less touristy parts though. Or how about Italy? xx
Now Mrs Cobb!!!!!! :-D

I'm with Kaya, I'd go Italy if it were me, I think the canaries are about 4 hours in flight, but the weather is fantastic and dependent on where you go, can be much less british touristy :)

How about a spell in Rome and then onto one of the Italian lakes like Lake Como? You can fly direct from Glasgow to Rome and then get a train on.
Rome is extremely romantic, obviously the sites are amazing and the food and wine is fabulous. Lake Como, I haven't been to personally, but have a quick search and you will find lots of beautiful villas you can rent. Italians themselves holiday there too and apparently it's particularly good for things like cycling, walking, water ski-ing etc.

I second the canaries... It's warm, and not too far and the non touristy parts are a must, they are so tranquil!!
Portugal is another good idea :)
Here comes the bride......

How about one of the Greek islands? Everything there is cheap as chips right now!

gracelet I've done the Lakes -their reputation is well deserved :) That said we didn't stay at Como (getting too busy & £££) but went to Lake Maggiore (sp) instead - GORGEOUS!
It depends what you like Bex - Menorca has some lovely all inclusive or adults only hotels. If you fancy villas/eating at restaurants etc then Italy is perfect. OOOHH How about the Amalfi Coast?? If we were getting married in the UK I'd definitely look at honeymooning there :) Xx
