    Hi everyone,

If you have join any of the contest in UKbride for other product (such as win a makeover from other company) when you 1st sign up. DO BEWARE OF SCAM!

I joined UKbried around Oct 2011 to get some idea and tips for my wedding day on 10 Dec 2011. So when i sign up here there are part that ask whether you want to join other contest to win something or not so i said why not. On the 25 Dec this company called up "London Makeover Studio" saying im one of the winner of FREE makeover and photo shooting. But they need me to pay a 100pounds deposit to secure the booking or appointment incase i don't show up and said i can also use the deposit to buy picture if i want or else they will just refund it to me. They said they have a professional team to make up and professional photographer etc.

So on the 17 Dec i went with my partner to their studio, is quite a lot of peoples there waiting for makeover and photo shoot and they only have 2 peoples doing the makeup and hair do but they doesn't look professional! I can't explain but you definitely can tell. So i don't have good feeling about it, when i was our turn i was just totally disappointed by the way they make up and the way he take pictures.

After everything is done we went into a room with a guy who want to sell their product which is our pictures and we totally don't like our pictures at all. So we said we don't want to buy any picture because 1st. is not nice, 2nd. so expensive, 3rd. the service sucks, the guy said is ok no problem and we ask about the refund he said no problem we will REFUND THE DEPOSIT TO YOU.

After a week no sign of refund from them so we call up, can you believe how many time we call them up? almost 10 times! Bloody 10 times to speak to someone about this, every time they said that person is not in! We been calling from morning till evening the whole day not in?? so finally someone speak to us in the end said there is NO REFUND to be make to us. Because that deposit is for book those makeup artist team!! WTF! this is never make known to us at the 1st place now they don't want to refund us the deposit by telling us this stupid rules? We drive all the way to London to do this stupid thing in the end we get this!!

So they said WILL NOT REFUND! till now no refund is make. Im very very angry because i don't know what should i do! This is not they agreed for and on the site didn't state about this part.

I can only treat this is as a lesson so i want to share with people who join or sign up for stuff like this Beware of this company LONDON MAKEOVER STUDIO is a SCAM! Do share this with other girls or friend or family.

    this is awfull!
I previously have "won" 3 or 4 photo shoots etc, but never go as I have heard they are aways scams, just trying to get you to buy photos.

DO you have any correspondance from them saying the deposit was for photo's etc?

I would contact them one last time to say you are going to trading standards if they dont refund youre money, and then actually do report them.

THere must be an ombudsman too for things like this.

I cant stand scammers, there is no need to be dishonest in business or life at all!

the links were cut after you had joined so anyone else joining now WILL NOT be approached by this company

I thought that too Lala but I assume it's a typo - maybe 25 Nov (after all, what company would call on xmas day) :)
Do you have any email confirmation from them? Or anything you filled out on the day? Or a receipt saying deposit?
Otherwise I can only suggest going to Citizens Advice Bureau melody Xx

They did this to me as well. Even though UKBride had severed all links to them, I had already paid my deposit and could not drop out without losing it for sure. The guy at the end said I could get my deposit back. After a week of not having my deposit, I called them. They did not call me back for two days. When they did call me back (after a few more calls from me) I got into a heated argument with the person on the phone. He was extremely rude to me. I told him I was going to Trading Standards, he practically dared me to.
So I have gone to Trading Standards, there is a letter on its way to Makeover London outlining why they should refund me my 150 pounds. Consumer Direct advised me to send this via registered mail so there would be proof I sent this letter. They have also said they would be looking into it, and would be taking into account other complaints about this company. So it would be really good for everyone involved and in future if you put in a complaint via Trading Standards/Consumer Direct as there would be more formal complaints against them.
