On a couple of episodes of DTTB I've seen barns/warehouses that sell old props - everything from coconut shy's to vintage candelabras. I've had a look in antique shops, auctions and second hand stores but I can't find a place similar.

Does anybody know what I would look for to find a similar place on the internet.

There are loads about - quite a few on net if you just type in prop hire.

Another good idea is too contact your local Theatre Groups and Dance/Stage schools as most of these will hold prop stock or be able to give you local contacts

yeah small theatres usually have a whole storage room full of props and costumes - when i was doing a levels we askes our local theatre (it was a tiny place) if we could use them and they booked a time for us to go down to the store. i think some theatres also have links to professional fancy dress companies so they might maybe have props in too??

failing that - get up early and go carbooting when they start again - old candleabras and candle sticks are often at the one tht we have been to near the newforest!!

    good luck hun x

Have you tried googling the individual things?

I am also looking for a coconut shy but was so far not successful - only inflatable ones. Don't want that.

What specific props are you after?

LMB, not too sure exactly what I want. I like things that are reminiscent of a summer fate, anything bird related, anything to do with sweet stalls and things that are white and large to fill space. Random, but I don't think I'll know what I want until I see it, which is why I'd like to find a physical place that I can go to.

Have you tried browsing wedding blogs? They always give details of vendors.

In terms of coconut shy ask your local schools/churches as they tend to have that sort of thing at their local fetes etc too xx
