I know tradition dictates that you give the Bridesmaid a thank you gift however, we are not exactly flush with cash. My bridesmaid is my sister and she knows our financial situation. I am buying her dress and all her accessories for the day so is it really necessary for me to get her a 'gift' as well? She isn't the easiest person to buy for, and the things that I know she would like are expensive.

if she knows you cant afford it and you are buying everything else for her i wouldnt worry to much. maybe just get her a bm card to say thank you

you could always do waht what were doing which is to wrap the bm jewllery and we have brought the men socks with theire duty on e.g. best man....and we will give them to them in the morning but in the grooms speech say thank you and hope they like the little presents.

I've bought all my bridesmaids a gift - a bit cheeky really because i've bought them the jewellery I want them to wear on the day! haha. But they paid for all their own outfits, if I'd bought them I wouldn't be buying them a gift too, I simply couldn't afford it. If your sister knows your financial situation then I'm sure she won't mind xx

i have bought them the jewellery they will be wearing on the day so im only getting them a card i also bought the bestman and groomsman cufflinks too so cards only and thank yous for the helpers although they will be flowers x

Thank you everyone. My mum is making our jewellery so I don't have to think about that, but I will have to buy my sister her dress and shoes and she will probably want a bag as well cos she cannot be parted from her phone!

I would say just explain you cant stretch to that much. we got pens, canvas bags and mugs off vistaprint, free and just paid postage.
