Sooo my student loan comes in on friday which means its time to book our wedding!!

Just thinking though before you ladies booked your wedding did you discuss it with your families? Even though we're grown ups i still feel we need to sort of have family approval. My H2b's grandad has mentioned us getting married to a place local to us and its not where we want so I sort of want to let them know before we book that we aren't going there. And hopefully (this is going to sound awful) its a chance for family members to say if they want to contribute any money towards our big day which coiuld mean we could bring the date forward!

Mention that your due to book you wedding when you loan comes through. (therefore prompting hopefully nice parents who will help pay). Also discuss with a few close family including your H2b granddad that you have found your dream place and that you love it, Hopefully he wont mind that is isnt the place he is thinking of :) Good luck. It's such a exciting time.

Aww how exciting! I cant wait until I can book things up (my student loan isnt through til January though!).

I havent really discussed my date with anyone - apart from H2B obviously! (Not that my family would really give two hoots!) But only because I'm so limited thanks to uni/placement dates. I think its a good idea to mention it just before the loan comes as JEm suggests, to see if they want to contribute, but bear in mind that sometimes gives the impression that they get a say in things, especially if Grandad is a bit tenacious! lol

Yes I held a family conference and the majority set the date - after all I want my family there and need their ok if the date is doable.

I'm doing adult nursing :) what about you? I'm the same, graduate in summer 2014 and thats just too blimming long for me to wait being such an impatient little madam. Final year is going to be insane with a management placement and a dissertation and the like, plus have to make up any hours I might miss through absence. So I have shoehorned it into the Christmas break next year haha :D and we're going to have a rather late honeymoon cruise once I'm qualified.

Oh goodness, I would definitely factor the sister in Australia into things.. then again she has a lot of notice to jiggle things around! x

I'm from Austria so half of the wedding guests come from there and need to take a few days off - I really needed them to decide which date is the best. And h2bs grandparents (well one grandad to be precise) requested not to get married in the winter because it's harder for him to get round - we also happily accepted this as he is really important to us.

Pretty much nowhere haha.. I thought I had it all sorted for a June wedding until I started uni and they told me I'm basically limited to Easter, August or December! As soon as my vicar confirms the date is doable then its all go again! I know what you mean, we just used most of our savings on the rent deposit and a replacement car so its gonna be a budget affair for me haha! How is your planning, have you got much else done? x
