They tend not to induce for no medical indication, if you mention it to your midwife she will pass you onto a consultant obstetrician who will discuss the implications of this.

We don't recommend induction lightly as, I'm sure you'll remember, it's not the most pleasant of procedures. However as you've had one before, it may not be as bad.

Definitely mention it to your midwife though, maternity is woman-centred care so they can't really refuse you it. xxx

we are expecting our second bubba on the 25th july so we are lucky that we booked our wedding for 1st august 2013 :) I'm afraid I don't know much about being induce etc but my hospital are fab and do mostly what ever you wish as long as it doesn't pose a danger/risk to you or bubs.

Talk to your midwife hun, she will refer you on and you'll talk to a consultant about it.

They will talk through the risks and benefits and the decision will be down to you xx

My LO was due 27th Aug this year and my bro got married 10th Sept - which happened to be exactly 2 weeks after my due date. I spoke to my midwife who said she would try sweeps and things early to try and get things in motion, but unfortunately, she was on holiday. Her replacement refused point blank to do anything, although did send me into hospital 3rd August as she thought i was really unwell and they'd induce there and then. They didn't, they sent me home, told me to come back on the 5th and then sent me home again, i went in on the 7th and had a failed attempt at induction, and they didn't break my waters until 9th at 2.30pm, so i totally missed my brothers wedding as my LO didn't arrive until 3.40am on the 10th and i was too ill to go home the same day.

From my expierience, no matter how many times i explained, the majority of staff refused point blank to help. The closest i got to going was after my failed induction because i refused for them to try the creams again and they started booking me in for a c-section after the weekend. Its only that the consultant managed to break my waters that they abandoned the c-section.
