I have decided to go for a traditional wedding theme of Ivory and gold. I know its not a very autumn'y but I am so stressed with colous I have decided to go with gold and ivory. I have never ever been so stressed out over colours.

Please let me know what you think ladies.

that sounds lovely and im sure you could class gold as an autumn colour with all the different colours of leaves you get at that time of the year :)

Sounds lovely for the time of year.

I know what you mean about being stressed out over what colour scheme to have - it's so hard.

I first went for a light pink then thought it wouldn't stand out so decided on purple now it's back to pink but a raspbery pink.

That will look lovely. I had to re-think my colour scheme at the beginning as what i originally wanted was what h2b had for his first wedding so that quickly changed, now im more than happy with what i've picked. Good choice though x

    Thanks ladies

I looked at a few silver and gold themes and they looked nice but very Christmas'y. However I did find something that sounded lovely. Surround your wedding day in visions of the future. Silver for 25th aniversary and gold for 50th anniversary. That seemed really romantic.

I went to my friends wedding at the end of september this year and she had ivory and gold but the men and bridesmaids dresses were like a light brown/mocca gold colour. I no it does not sound very nice but they were. and there table decs were green apples in a long vase with bits of gold branch things and ivory flowers on top. her name place were green apples with a tag on them in ivory the the name written on in gold. I am not very good as you can see at explaning things but all the colours went lovely together. xx

if you are having doubts then I would suggest you go to a couple more shops and try a few more on. I was like that I couldn't work what it was so I went to different shops (4/5 in total) just to be sure! It's also the fun part. xx

Just my thought but I have silver in my dress hence am just going for ivory and not ivory and gold. Like yourself, I figured it may look odd as BM have red and silver (they are the only thing in red) so decided that other than attendants who I refuse to have in white or ivory, everything else will just be white with greenery. I think it just looks so elegant.

if you wanted to add a bit of autumn in your theme, then you could spray those pine cones or whatever they are called golden and use them around your venue, table decorations etc.... gold is definately a nice classy autumn colour, after all the leaves turna goldeney colour dont they :-), i think its a beautiful colour choice. x

    Thanks ladies

I think I am settling for gold and when we see the florrest she can advise us on flowers.

Can I just ask is champagn a lighter colour of gold. I found a very nice BM dress in champagn and it looks amazing and its a bargin; £66. I will put a pic in my album. I wont put it here as it has the name of the shop right accross the pic and I dont want to get in trouble for advertising in the forum.

BM approves of the dress and H2B approves of the BM dress and colour theme. I think we are on to a winner!

I put the FG dress up too in with the bridesmaid. They are stunning dresses and if they are as good as they look then they will be a bargin.

Only disapointment is I was hoping for a girly shopping trip after xmas.... Im sure I could think of something to do though because it will be nice for the BM to meet before the big day.
