I have such clear visions on how I want to make things but can't decide on the seating plan. I have seen many great seating plans on wedding blogs but nothing strikes me as "that's it!".
Who's diy-ing their seating plan? Photos? :-)

hi
im going to do mine. ive got a kit from confetti and ill just add all my own touches to it. im not doing mine though till next summerish so i dont have a picture.
one i liked from a website was a washing line style plan which looked really nice and different, good if you have a theme.
good luck xxx

We are having ours printed with a design that an artist h2b knows did for us around the edging Its the same design we have on the invites and menus etc
I have seen some others i like - I like having a map as a backdrop if your table names are places/countries
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!
Lou - we don't have a strict theme as such but it's 50s, polka dotted, very bright and colourful with deers and toadstools thrown in.
Washing line sounds good.

Not a 100% decided but very much likely we're going to have classic fairy tales as tabkenames. So a large image of a forrest with a path through would be funny - and along the path one fairytale after the other with the names somehow attached or printed underneath.
I like this idea but even though I am creative and artistic painting is not my art. Need to think outside the box to recreate this vision.

hmmm havent had time to think of how to make it work in practical terms but how about Toadstools and then the dots on tops could represent the table plan with the names in the middle.
You could have these laid out on a table and set out representing your reception room but then have the toadstools where tables would be then have them sitting in grass with little animals etc scattered in between or you could also incorporate the fairy tale figurines if possible. In my head im envisaging a forest floor scene?
Could be a bit of work but would be a fantastic decoration and fab keepsake?

Sounds good - better than a forrest image because just woodland is not cutsey enough for me :-)
I just had another brainwave. I always wanted to buy one of these large strawberry memo boards by Gisela Graham - I would use it at home for my hair clips but for the wedding I'd source vintage images of classic fairy tales and put them on the board (with names attached ofc). I have Gisela Graham strawberry bunting and crockery at home and was going to use it all at the wedding so it would tie in nicely. Over £25 for a seating plan was not in my budget but because I'd use it anyway in daily life I could justify it.

Ive seen some really cool ones for example the washing line, one was in an old suitcase and had jewellery and pearls and things over and around, it looked very vintage and very good. You could use a tree as a table plan then it can double up as a wishing tree after or you could do escort cards so you don't need a "plan" per say! The one im going with is on a mirror then I can use the mirror in the house after :-)

We are having a large board on an easel which will be in a purple pattern. Then on top we will have black baroque frames stuck on and the names of each table and its guests in the frames.

Thank you Munchkinpie, they are very sweet, aren't they? I'm using her toadstool picks in my bouquet.
