    Hey girlies... Long one sorry!!
Could do with a little bit of help as regards food for the day.
We are getting married at 3pm and are having all our guests for the whole day, not seperate for the day and more come in the evening. Therefore we are having 150 guests.
We are planning a 3 course meal of melon or pate and toast for starter and for main havin sliced beed and ham with new potatoes and salad. Obviously there will be a veggie option. We are then having mixed dessert.
We are planong on having a candy table and a cheese cake (actual cheese lol) with crackers aswell as our wedding cake.
Two issues I have...do we need a small buffet for later in the evening too?
And, does the main sound okay?...
    Please Help. Thank You!

I would have an evening buffet because most of the guests will probably eat hardly anything through the day x

we are having the same meal time and are having melon and rasberry compote with rasberry sorbet. Main we are having minted lamb with root vegetables and herb crusted potatoes, and then chocolate brownie with vanilla icecream and choc sorbet. We are then having an evening buffet at approx 8.30-9.00 pm Hope this helps.

P.S. it may also be an idea to include canapes before the bridal breakfast as ppl will get hungry. This is what we have been advised to do.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
    weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!

You're all sooo helpful, thank you. We are planning the main meal for 5ish hopefully. So a buffet later on sounds perfect. Thank you all. x

I would have a few nibbles out as the more people dance and drink you always get hungry! I'm having a sit down meal and a buffet just to be covered x

How about serving the cheesecake and wedding cake later in the evening along with extra more nibbly foods if you feel you need? If your meal is at 5 people wont finish eating until about 7pm so I personally would not put too much food on later. A common thread on here is how much food is wasted at evening do's after a bid wedding breakfast.

Hey Omi, Im getting married at 3:30pm. Photos from 4:15 till 5/5:30pm. Reception will be open from 5:30pm. The reception is approx a 20mins drive away. We will have speeches and get food out but hold some back for later on. We are having a buffet so people can pick all night. Our reception is only on till 11:30pm. So id think have your sit down meal then a small buffet later?????? Your meal sounds lovely Xxxx

Instead of a buffet it may work out a little cheaper (and more fun!) if you have something like mini portions of chips or bacon rolls? I find that once the dancing's started and the wine is flowing, guests seem a little more up for something on the go rather than dipping the energy levels with a long food queue!
