Just spent the whole day at a&e ......im 7 weeks pregnant and since thursday morning ive been bleeding on and off ....red/brown and light pink.....everytime i convince myself im having a miscarriage and get used to the idea, a nurse/midwife/doctor will come along give me hope....which im starting to think is really false hope.

Im being told nearly everyday that its common to bleed in early pregnancy....well i never did with my kids only the ones when i had a miscarriage - but then when i had a miscarriage i just started to bleed and didnt stop!

They wont give me a scan till tuesday morning....which just feels like a long cruel wait!.....i do have a urine infection, which apparently can cause bleeding and they checked my cervix and its still closed....which they say is a good sigh BUT i might still miscarry!

Just wondering if anyone else has been through this and still had a normal pregnancy???

    *****UPDATE*******
I had my scan today and the baby is still hanging on.....got no idea where the blood is coming from thou.
Just keeping my fingers crossed for the next 4 weeks!!!!!

There could be many reasons why you are bleeding not necessarily miscarriage. It can be quite common but good thing you let them know. Hope everything will be ok with you and your baby x

Firstly I know this is a worrying time but try to relax for the baby's sake hunni, you getting worked up is not going to be good for lil one REALLY hard right now I know hunni but please try!

Secondly I didnt find out I was pregnant until I was 3 months pregnant with all 3 of mine because I still came on each month and had no signs at all (although i did feel sick with my son after this lol). The midwife did say this is very common now, as is bleeding throughout pregnancy so please don't panic!
The cervic is still closed so it is a very good sign hunni, as for waiting until tuesday for a scan have they said why you have to wait that long?

It can happen. When I was 18 I found out I was pregnant (gave the baby to father and his new partner to officially adopt for many reasons which I would rather not go into)
I had a period for 6 months of the pregnancy and was 19 weeks and 4 days when I first found out!

I also had "implantation bleeding" when I fell pregnant with my daughter. The midwife told me this was normal and it was exactly what u described. so lets hope it's just that hun. I will have a look up tho to make sure it fine for you hun.

Hope u feel better soon xx

Oh and u should have had an emergency scan! x

They keep making out that they might not be able to see anything on a scan so they want to leave it a bit longer....but with my first son i had a scan at seven weeks and the heart beat was visable!

It happens in around 30% of pregnancies and as you say you have an infection which can cause you to bleed during pregnancy but i do agree with krisw86 they should've given you a scan just to check as it is unfair to leave you to wait until tuesday x

I thought you could see a heartbeat from 5-6 weeks? A little flutter even? Fingers crossed it settles down reilykit, and that u have a great scan on Tues. As far as I know it's really quite common nowadays, but doesn't make it any less scary for you.

My sister had the exact same thing with her 2nd child and she also thought she was having a miscarriage because she didn't have this with her 1st. But she went to A&E and it turned out she had a water infection - or something like that.

Anyway her baby was fine and she had a normal pregnancy but she did bleed again in her 3rd trimester but everything was okay.

I think it's stupid making you wait until tuesday. I hope everything is okay x
