Hi, my partners brother is getting Married in April, and they haven't asked him to be groomsmen, he is very close with his brother and is not being one, it's just the brides to be Family all being groomsmen, is it wrong of me to be so mad about this? X

Who is being his best man? It is a bit strange, and i would maybe expect the brothers to have each other as groomsmen at their weddings. Has your partner asked his brother about it?

my partner is having his brother as his bestman and would probably expect to be his bestman when he marry's! if he not asked then i would prob be a bit mad about it too!! its a bit odd just having the brides family involved, is she quite controlling over the wedding??maybe he didnt have a say!! think your partner should ask his brother about it maybe just pop it up in convo xx

It does seem strange that if your OH and his brother are very close that he wouldn't be included and its only her family, and you can be mad/upset but at the end of the day it is their wedding and they have every right to choose who they want, if it was the other way round you wouldn't want people questioning who you choose to be in the bridal party, if your OH is upset about it maybe he could ask his brother out for a drink and maybe bring it up in conversation.

It depends on how people get on with the family really, most of my bridal party is to do with me as OH isn't really close to any of his brothers. His groomsman is my cousin, they think the world of each other and his best man is his brother in law.
I havent questioned them about it, I was just mad about the situation!! She seems fairly controlling, as not a lot of his family have been invited, although I do get on with her great, they have already made it clear they will not be attending our Wedding, but if they were, he would have been asked to be Groomsman. I just thought, close Family should be by your side on your special day. One of his friends his best man, just wanted people's views on the situation. Thank you Ladies xx

My OH doesnt have a borther but my Brother will be part of the wedding, to make up for him not having a brother as his best friend is his best man, he has a few close friends as part of the grooms men party!! Does you OH and his brother get on very well? maybe it has just been a oversight?

Normally, the groomsmen are selected by the groom and would usually be his close relations / best friends. However, each couple has to decide for themselves. Even if the B2B is perceived by others to be controlling, it really isn't up to anybody else to question their decisions as a couple. Everyone has the right to their own feelings and opinions (so by all means feel upset), but challenging someone on the decisions they have made regarding their wedding is probably going to lead to trouble. It might be best to just bite your tongue and keep your feelings to yourself on this one.
That's my two cents - it's up to you what you do of course :)
