I'm so excited for today that I just had to tell you all. But i'm also terrified that my mother isn't going to like the venue :( she always had the dream of the big white wedding, at a stately home or a castle somewhere, big and grand but most importantly EXPENSIVE!! and we just can't afford that. We've opted for a much more simple, very classy country pub, with a real log burning fire, real ales at the bar etc etc, with a massive function room! beautiful bedroom, for some of our guests to stay the night. and most importantly within our budget. I think once the venue is dressed up, and i'm going the night before to add finishing touches, and decorate the tables etc. It will look just as good as somewhere expensive. But I could be getting married in a stable, covered in horse poo, with the horses still in it for all I care, I don't care where the venue is, what it looks like, I get to marry my best friend, and the love of my life, so I don't care if the venue is "special"! He is special, and thats all I need :) But looking forward to getting the deposit put down, as it will all be real then! So excited!! 29th september 2012, can't wait xx

Thanks, she seemed to like it, she did mention it wasn't what she'd pictured, but was sure we could decorate it to make it perfect! I think she's just sooo excited about me getting married, that hopefully she'll be happy where ever it is. I'm sure on the day she'll forget about the little things she doesn't like and just enjoy it :)

sounds lovely! ours looks a bit like a country pub as its an old mill so it has views over a river and brick etc on the inside, ive yet 2 visit mine and put the deposit down but i already feel like its what we want as its just homely and intimate, if it was a person i would say down to earth! not too toffee nosed lol its somewhere u would feel comfortable and not 'omg i feel too common to be in this place!' lol im sure it will look stunning, anything can look great with a bit of imagination!
ur further in ur planning than me and im getting married b4 u, i better get a move on! lol it is exciting!!
